WiFi Calling -Update Emergency Address

I've been having issues updating my emergency address on my device to activate WiFi calling. While looking for a solution, I stumbled across this link: https://egw.wireless.bell.ca:8585/  during a Google search for ,"Bell WiFi Calling".

Which appears to be the splash screen you'd normally see when you enable WiFi calling and it prompts you to enter in your phone number, confirm your emergency address, and receive an activation code.

I wanted to confirm the legitimacy of this link. I haven't seen this link mentioned anywhere on the forum or in the standard Bell WiFi Calling FAQ and troubleshooting page. If the link is in fact legitimate, why is this link not more publicly available for ease of use, as I don't get a prompt on my device after toggling WiFi Calling to on.

I am on an "Unlimited Canada Minutes plan", but not "Nationwide calling member to member" plan. The feature WiFi Calling doesn't show up on this plan under add-ons, but it does for another device that's on the nationwide plan. Is this plan not eligible ? If it is eligible, and that link is indeed a Bell Link, will it allow WiFi calling to activate?

Good Day.

Wi-Fi calling is not included in all plans. Wi-Fi calling is only available within Canada on unlimited nationwide plans. If you are on a Bell Mobility Talk & Text plan, then Wi-Fi calling is not included.

To use Wi-Fi calling, you will need:

  • A compatible device:
  • An eligible rate plan that offers unlimited nationwide calling. Existing customers can make changes to their plans in MyBell.

Here is a link that will explain everything to you:

FYI Only. When in doubt, do not open any weblink that is not secure. To determine if a weblink is legitimate, check the URL for suspicious characters or misspellings. Look for the: (http:// and a padlock icon) and use a web checker tool to check the link's safety rating.

Other red flags include poor design, bad spelling, and unusual contact information.

Take care.
