Long Distance Rates

Canada-US 500 minutes long distance plan says it has great overseas rates, but doesn't give any info as to what they are. Does anyone know what the rate to the UK is with this plan?

It was only by escalating my question through the Bell escalation service that I was able to find the answer to my question. The "great overseas rates" promised when you only have the Canada-US 500 minute plan are apalling. More than $2/minute to call a landline in the UK from a landline in Canada! Since I only call a couple of times a year, having an International Plan isn't sensible. I'll be staying with my current provider where, for my overall $6/month Canada plan, 2 cents/minute is the charge for calls to the UK! That is a great overseas rate, and cheaper than calls to places in Canada with the plan!

Bell seriously needs to do something about the people answering their phones and chat enquiries. When I went that route first, I received 2 totally different answers, neither of which was close to being correct, and neither of which made any sense. That's why I escalated it. I want to know what I'm getting before I buy, and I'm glad I did, as either of the answers I initially received would have cost me far more than I would have expected.

Hi there @MEB
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
With an applicable long distance package the rates for oversea calls can be found on our PDF file Internation Plus RatesOpens in a new tab or window. UK in particular is $0.05/min on home phone.
Hope this helps!

Thanks, Nick. What isn't clear to me is that since I'd be paying for a Canada-US package, and not the International package, do the rates to the UK you've given the link for still apply? I don't want the International package since I only call the UK a couple of times a year, and don't call anywhere else except Canada and the US.

If they do great, and it might be an idea for Bell to provide a link for them rather than just saying that the Canada-US package includes great international rates.

If they do not, what will the rates be?
