9500 AutoTune channel change

some scheduled channel changes take up to 10seconds to complete.  Mostly found going from a 1400 series to 1200 or 1100 channels , the TV goes to black and then about 10seconds later a picture shows up , but the info header still shows the previous 1400 channel and program.  Pressing Info to confirm it changed correctly , on the screen bottom left . the "timer" shows "23". Clearing the header and pushing "info" again , the header still shows the 1400 previous channel and the timer number shows "22".  After about 3 seconds , the header info finally shows the newly auto tuned channel it is on.

I do not know how "new" this model is but it seems there are some firmware programming issues.    Anyone ?

Hey there @LiesureOne

Welcome to the Bell community.

Does this affect any other receivers in your home or just the one? What type of TV set do you have, and are you able to test the receiver with a different TV to see if the same thing happens? We also recommend that you reboot your TV receiver by unplugging it from the power outlet for around 10 seconds.

Let the community know if you continue to have any trouble.

@BellPatricia ,  , the tv is a samsung , but this is not a tv issue.  The tv is a signal receiving device. In essence it is "dumb".  The signals coming from the 9500 is what the tv responds to.  I did a reboot back when i first brought up the issue and it didn't fix it.  Most auto tune channel changes work in a snap. One thing i didn't mention was the "last channel" button fails to return you to the last channel it was on but this issue is "hit and miss".  Sometimes it does and then again sometimes it doesnt. You just get the info header showing the channel you are on.   I've learned to live with the last channel issue. Its not a huge deal.  The weird operation of the timer programming is livable .

now that its been 8 months of no change by Bell to these issues , i doubt it will ever be corrected.     We know rebooting the box doesn't do squat.

A programming update likely would , but that takes research / testing of the issue by Bell.  I am not a troubleshooter for Bell. I just pay the $$$ monthly for a proper working product.  Thank you.

You are correct. Channel changes are getting longer on the 9500 receiver. Be aware that the 9500 receiver is not a Bell developed product. It is licensed from DISH Network. Any changes have to come from DISH, I believe, and not from Bell.

Did not notice the channel changes because we have everything auto tuned, i do have issues with remote not working properly, wont stop while fast forwarding, guide sometimes jus keep scrolling while using remote. Sometimes auto tunes disappear from programmed. tried changing frequency on remote same thing. Have 2 remotes same issue  I did not know about the Dish providing changes to the receiver

With respect to your remote, what you describe may mean dirt in the remote itself or the battery may need to be replaced.

One remote is Brand new only used a month , new batteries in it, the other came with the receiver appeared to be new, looked clean and new. It also has new batteries. Both are clean no debris,  Tried 4 different frequencies no difference. Clearly a  interference issue or something wrong with my receiver. Thanks for the suggestion though
