Email indicating I need to return a Receiver for Satellite TV?

Sierra I got a strange email out of the blue assuming I need to return a Receiver for Satellite TV ? I haven’t had Satellite TV since 2006 . I live in Ontario where Fibre Optic is the only way to go . I have Fibe TV and my receiver is fine and I didn’t request a new receiver! All I did was a remote replacement! I received my voice remote on Friday and paired it myself so I sure wish if people reply to a request that they would thoroughly read it through.

I trust you received your remote & everything is working for you. I agree with you that a Satellite receiver & Fibe TV remote are not the same. Were you asked to return equipment or requested to provided anything?

It could be a scam by a fraudster!

If I were you, I would call Fibe TV tech support & confirm that no other equipment is being shipped. Mistakes do happen & this could be one of them. They can verify this with you online.

You did the wise thing in being cautious!

Bell would never send you a message asking you for specific information or to open a pdf or a link to verify your Email account, etc.

Beware of phishing & malware. Report as junk & delete. Do not reply, forward, etc. this message that you received.

Caution is the better part of valour! Rather to be safe than sorry!
