I have a 9242 PVR where I could edit name. It was really useful so when Bell posted free channels where "(info)" would be in the title, I could remove it so I wouldn't have 2 sets of the same show instead of one. For example, If I pay for the History channel and record "Alone" that is what would show on my PVR guide, but when Bell offered History for free, they would add "info" to the title and would cause two sets of "Alone" on my PVR guide instead of one. On the 9242 I could edit the name on all of the Alone shows so they show the same name. It was a great feature to get rid of the very annoying "info" addition to the title.
The other night, Vision overrode Doc Martin for a tribute to the Queen. My 9500 recorded the show and I opted to record it longer. My 9500 PVR show Doc Martin got recorded. I went to edit the name, so I could have it show separate on the PVR instead of grouped with Doc Martin but I can't find "edit name" anywhere on the 9500. Has that feature disappeared or am I not looking hard enough?
Side note: I am trying very hard to like the 9500, but in reality the 9242 was so much better in functions and features and way more user friendly.

I actually have figured out on how to edit name, It is definitely inconvenient but it works. On the 9500, I transfer the program that I want to edit over to the external drive. I then take that external drive and attach it to my 9242. I press PVR, go to external drive, and then can edit the name.
It really works and the plus is that the 9242 DOES NOT reformat the external drive when I hook it up as it was already formatted on the 9500.

Hi there @dannyboy. Thanks for your post.
You are right, the option to edit the name of a recorded show is not available on the 9500 Whole Home PVR.
Have a nice day 🙂

Thanks.
I guess the inventor of the 9500 didn't look at previous features that actually worked on previous models. At least now I know. I think I will set up the 9242 again. So many bad things about the 9500 but Bell is my only option out where I live.
Thanks for your response.

Didn't realize how long ago I posted this. Just a follow up. My 9242 had a hard drive failure. Managed to find some 9241's, but sadly those models will not allow me to switch external hard drives. They will want to reformat the drive no matter what. So I removed the internal hard drive from the 9241 and installed it in the 9242. And it worked! I now can swap external drives again! Now I don't need to order the 7500 to access the PVR in the 9500 (besides Bell wants $60.00 to plug in a 7500. No wires to hook up just plug it in and access wi-fi).
