When fast forwarding on my pvr, it tells me “no space available” even when only one 1-hour program is recorded.

Interesting, can you share a photo of this error message with us?
What type of TV receiver/remote are you using? Is this affecting more than one receiver?
To start, we recommend rebooting your equipment. Also, you can try to record another program, then test to see if you continue to get the same error message.
