My Samsung tv Q70 has trouble connecting to wifi wireless - to bell fibe 3000 1G

the tv recognizes the wifi names but does not connect - connection failed error - the only work around is to constantly reboot the modem .. it’s very annoying - you want to watch a YouTube video or Netflix and you can’t. Constant rebooting. Any suggestions? Anyone with the same issues? Thank you!

I will add to this thread that I just connected an older LG TV (not smart tv) using an Apple TV to the same Wi-Fi network without any hiccups. I was also able to use Airplay from my iPhone 11 Pro to the same LG TV. I downloaded using Apple TV the Bell Fibe App from the App Store and I now can watch TV as expected and without a Bell receiver. The Samsung SMART TV does not allow me to download the Bell Fibe App, it cannot Airplay from my iPhone and keeps conflicting in an erratic way with the Bell receiver. Question to Bell why can I not download the Bell App from my Samsung smart TV? So far it seems that many people are having the same problem: a conflict between Samsung and Bell (receiver). Any better ideas out there?

Update: Adding MAC, IP to router is buried deep inside Advance Settings > DMZ on Home Hub 4000. This method didn't work for Samsung Frame TV 2021 Smart TV.

Solution: What worked for me was to add another wifi network, ie. Visitors Wifi. This worked immediately and connected and stayed connected overnight. Previously, above solutions only stayed connected for few hours, then disconnected on its own. Hope that helps! Thanks to @aloloco for the other option as well. Good luck!

Hi there @aloloco. Thanks for your post, and welcome to the Bell Community 🙂

How often are you having to reboot your equipment (daily/weekly)?

We recommend running our Virtual repair toolOpens in a new tab or window when the issue occurs. Virtual Repair will check for any issues, optimize your service and reboot all of your equipment.

If you continue to experience any trouble another option would be to test a wired connection, and plug your TV directly into the modem via Ethernet.

If you haven't already you can also download the Bell Wi-Fi appOpens in a new tab or window  You will be able to check out all of your connected devices and see the connection strength of your TV.

Let the Community know how everything goes.

Thank you for reply and suggestions. I have to reboot the systems multiple times a week. I do have Bell Wi-Fi App (not helping), based on multiple variations of connections the problem seems to be of a conflict between the Samsung Wi-Fi card and the Bell Wi-Fi protocol used by the Bell receiver (not necessarily the modem). although disconnecting the receiver keeps producing the same error. Other devices do connect to the modem Home Hub 3000 1G. Usually after rebooting the modem and a couple of tries to reconnect to the wifi it works. To be clear, the TV recognizes the Wi-Fi name but is unable to produce an IP. Samsung already replaced the wifi card and that didn’t solve the problem either. Suggestions from bell tech people are to create two Wi-Fi distinct networks (names which I do not want and it’s not recommended by Bell) one 2.4 and one 5. Any other ideas?

Hi, I have the exact same problem. After 2 years of owning Samsung FrameTV, without any issues, and then this past week, constant reboot of modem > re-enter WiFi creds > watch TV/Netfllix/whatever > turnoff > turnon > problem starts again. I am not sure if contacting Samsung would help, did you have any issues with getting a replacement wifi card? I was thinking about manually entering the IP into Samsung (instead of using "automatically obtain"). Would like to hear what worked for you! Thanks so much

Hi there,

The solution to the problem is to login to the modem control panel and manually add the MAC address of the TV. This solved the issue immediately. I’m not sure what the conflict is but I think that it is a modem problem. I had to do the same thing with a couple of other devices ie irrigation system and a Kobo ereader. As soon as the MAC address is entered (manually) it works seamlessly. It’s not a wifi card problem and it’s not a TV issue. I hope it helps.

Great to hear! Thanks so much....Now, struggling to find UI to add MAC address in Bell 4000 Hub Router control panel. Any tips?

I don’t have access to my modem now, but I think it’s in advance settings - it should not be too hard to locate, otherwise a Bell support should be able to tell you. Fingers crossed!

Thanks Aloloco Added MAC and IP to DMZ on Home Hub 4000, worked for 60 mins, then while watching Netflix disconnected again! Perhaps it's the SamsungTV Wireless card after all -- didn't have any issues with direct ethernet to FibeTV, but wireless connections all disconnected.

Glad it worked for you. Bell needs to get their act together and at least benefit from the user forum and provide better support. Before I figured out my solution I had two Samsung TVs replaced and one wifi card … needless as it was clearly a modem conflict between the bell wifi and the Samsung wifi, both trying to access the network. Anyway, cheers to you,

TV won’t connect to internet…Bell just updated from 1.5 to 3.0G..my Samsung TV won’t connect to internet

I just bought a Samsung Frame TV. How do I hook up Home Hub 4000 so I can get the same channels as I get on my other TV

With a Samsung frame tv 2021 not connecting to home wifi anymore, we applied the following solution suggested by deansmith and no more issues:

connect to your bell internet modem (3000 model for us)

activate guest wifi (a new wifi zone for your modem)

connect frame tv to guest wifi

no more problem!
