Good Day.
You did not mention anything related to physical damage caused by dropping the remote control, spillage, sticky finger buttons, falling asleep with the remote in hand, battery leakage / damage, lost in bed or between the sofa cushions, etc. Believe it or not this has happened to all of us from time to time. Remotes are well used & eventually do need to be replaced.
Before replacing it, please try a few more troubleshooting steps with your remote to make sure it really is defective.
You mentioned that the #4 is not working. Are you having any other problems with incorrect key presses? E.g. Page up & down, recordings, menu settings, scrolling, etc. Did you change the batteries?
I would make sure that the battery storage area on the remote control is dirt free, dry & there is no battery leakage residue. I would clean the outside of the case with an old damp toothbrush. Use a small amount of dish soap if oils are a problem. Oils from the hand combined with dirt can cause the bulk of your problems with remotes. I have found that using a Q-tip or tooth brush usually solves the problems from keys sticking or not contacting. So try this first.
Your goal is to clean the remote. Do not saturate or immerse it in liquids. Do not try to take it apart unless you really know how to put it back together.
You can use:
- Soap and water: any dish soap or liquid hand soap. (My preference is Dawn for it's excellent cleaning agents.)
- Vinegar, isopropyl alcohol, or sanitizubg wipes.
- Lint-free cloth, tooth pick, small ended needle tip, etc.
- Compressed air cannister.
All Bell remotes come with a 1-year warranty. If your defective remote is still under warranty, please contact Bell by chat or phone.
If the warranty has expired, you will need to purchase a replacement. These can be ordered online. Select the appropriate web link below. The Voice Remote with Google Assistant for the Fibe TV box is: $30.00 plus tax.
- Get a new Fibe TV remote
- Get a new Satellite TV remote
Take care.
