US and Timeshifting channels on the Fibe TV App

I have a number of channels on my Bell TV package that cannot be accessed on the Fibe TV App ie. CBS, NBC and ABC including timeshifting. This is very annoying since I am paying for services that are not available across all my devices. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I am trying to watch CBSHD channel 1202 on Fibe TV app. I am getting the message "This content can only be played on your receiver in home". Why? Your description in the app reads "The Fibe TV app allows Bell TV clients to enjoy their TV content anywhere." Verry frustrating.

Update: It also happens on tv.bell.ca when using Firefox.

I watch CNBC.  That's it.  Suddenly today, the CNBC content is not available on Bell Fibe TV web-app.  .???

This is a showstopper for me, I am considering dropping Bell unless this gets fixed.

This is not cool.  Please explain this disaster.

Why can't I get all the channels that I pay for at home? CBS, NBC, ABC, etc.

Late to follow up. This is just a website version of Bell service but caps the streaming quality at 2G/h instead of 3G/h as watching directly on tv or casting from TV apps on phones and pads. Besides, the CC doesn’t allow customization on the site. Also, the keyboard shortcuts sometimes don’t work.

I got a Firestick a few months ago and installed the Bell Fibe Tv app and was not able to get my local channels with it. And The Weather Network gives me the local weather for Montreal only. Recently, I have lost some other channels and I am cannot seem to get them back.

Are you in Montreal with Fibe TV?

why can I not be able to watch us channels on the fibe tv app

  • Why are not all my subscripted channels not coming up on my Fibe app

We reside in Burlington in winter and pay for MSNBC but spend summers at cottage and access Bell through a Firestick. We cannot get MSNBC here through Firestick. They say it’s not allowed? Why?

Hello,

I have 2 properties. Main condo has has Fibe Internet and FibeTV and the cottage only has Fibe Internet. Everything is under a single MyBell account.

When at the cottage, I use the FibeTV app and make sure that I select the postal code linked to the main condo. I used to be able to watch everything live exactly as though I was at the main condo. Lately though, this stopped working. I can watch most stuff live but I cannot watch the US channels live (NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox). I keep getting a popup saying that I should connect to the Bell wifi (which I am !) but that was never the case before.

Last weekend, I was able to watch a PVR recording from a show on CBS BEFORE the recording is over. That used to work but had not worked lately. I had to wait until a few minutes after the recording ends. But last weekend it worked fine but about 30 minutes into the show, the playback stopped and I was never able to restart it. It was telling me I had to wait until 9 minutes after the show ends. It was working but then stopped working suddenly WHILE I was watching ?!

Any ideas as to what could be the problem ? I called tech support but frankly, they weren't very helpful.

I think you are experiencing the same issue I am having. Your terminology seems more accurate though 🙂

It was my understanding that I could go to any Bell wifi internet (even a friend that is completely unrelated to my account) and watch my complete package live (including NBC, CBS, etc). This is why I changed my internet at my condo to Bell.. So I could have 2 internet packages but only one TV package and use that package in exactly the same way at both places.

It worked for a few months in fact but stopped working along the way. I have no idea why and tech support didn't seem to know why either.

Obviously that’s a loophole which will allows different addresses sharing the same account.

Hello.
I am on vacation and am trying to watch on my Fibe app.
Some of the channels are showing a little tv symbol in the guide and these channels are not watchable on live tv, it is leaving the message…    This content can only be played on your receiver in home.   Why is this and how do I repair it. I’ve never had this problem before.
I am in B.C.  And using the Google chromecast with the bell Fibe app.
thank you.

Thank you for the info. Good to know that it’s a licensing thing. I won’t be driving myself crazy trying to fix it now. 😊. Sorry for the separate post as I didn’t find this thread when I searched.
