FibeTV Apple TV slow

Several people including myself are reporting the FIbeTV app on Apple TV is slow to respond to commands.  This has started happening with any changes by end users.  Is Bell looking into this?  Right now the app is useless.  Yes - app deleted and reinstalled, Apple TV rebooted and even OS upgraded.

There is still a 3 seconds pause between Channel change.   Sometimes it works for 5-10 min then not

When I open a channel from the guide, that takes 2/3 seconds yes - it is related to "HDR to SDR" switching because channels are SDR (and my Apple TV is HDR by default). During the World Cup, the opening of HDR channels (TSN 4K, RDS 4K) was instant. If I switch between channels from an active channel, it is instant too.

If you mainly use SDR content, you can switch the Apple TV to use SDR by default and this delay will disappear. Apple TV automatically switch back to HDR if you open a supported video.

I don't really understand the "it works for 5-10 min then not", on my side all are working constantly.

What is the model of your Apple TV (Settings > General > About) ? This information may help Bell to identify something.

I'm using the Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen, 2022) on my side.

Hi @BellPatricia, after few weeks:

• Lower crash rate globally (thank you!)
• Guide is sometimes not opening at the current time (I think mainly when I click on back button on my Apple TV remote control after a few hours of live viewing)

So there are some improvements with the last two versions but not perfect.

I hope more fixes are in the pipeline.

Better on my Apple TV too.    Still freezes once in a while when i change Channel but a lot less often

@BellPatricia   The guide mostly starts at the correct time and overall the app is more stable.  But I have discovered a couple of glitches:  if its say 10pm and a show is running from 9-11, the guide - only at start up - will revert back to 9 pm rather than 10 pm if you start on that program.  As soon as I scroll off the program it goes to 10 pm.  Secondly, when in the guide, the back button - at times- fails to go back to the menu.  You get stuck on the guide.   You have to close the app and restart it
