Unable to select any options when I've finished listening to a voicemail

When I am finished listening to a voicemail, I am given the usual options to save, delete or replay the message. However, no matter which of these options I choose, the action I choose is not acted upon. All that happens is that I hear a message asking, "hello, are you still there" (repeatedly) and eventually the statement "goodbye" and the system hangs up.

I've tried to deal with Bell support on this (unsuccessfully rather obviously). Bell support said they would have to pass the problem to technical support but I never heard back from technical support or anyone else.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Have spent the last two days troubleshooting this issue. Thank god I have carrier diversity and able to use my Rogers mobile service to access my Bell services.....

I am 3 hours in and still stuck .......on one particular saved voicemail that I can't delete or bypass to listen to the rest of my saved voice mails.

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

This can be a hardware or software issue. Have you tried retrieving your messages by using another phone? This will confirm whether it is a hardware problem or not.

If it is not a telephone issue, it can be caller specific or software related at Bell.

Please call Bell Home phone & ask the technician to reset your Call Answer voicemail mailbox. By doing so, you will loose any messages that may be stored in your mailbox. This process will remove all other messages that you are experiencing retrieval problems with. Please call: 1 866 310-BELL (2355) or dial #611 from any Bell mobile device.

Thank you reaching out to the Bell Community Forum.

Take care.

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

This can be a hardware or software issue. Have you tried retrieving your messages by using another phone? [TD Yes from 4 different devices . 3 bell handsets and 1 Rogers.]  This will confirm whether it is a hardware problem or not.

Please call Bell Home phone & ask the technician to reset your Call Answer voicemail mailbox.  [TD I would like to explore other solutions before “losing” stored voicemails.],By doing so, you will loose [TD “lose”]any messages that may be stored in your mailbox. This process will remove all other messages that you are experiencing retrieval problems with -[ TD not an acceptable SLA in my opinion. Did not have these issues prior to the Fibe ( fibre) migration]

Good Day,

The Bell Community Forum does not have access to your personal account, billing or equipment for your service. This is a peer-to-per site. If you prefer, you can contact Bell Customer Service Home phone tech support.

I wish I could offer up to you another solution to resolve your issue, but I cannot. I can only surmise that it is a held calling party that has not disconnected properly from your voicemail. This is not a common occurrence. It can happen whether you are on a traditional copper or fibre phone service.

I do not know of any other method to resolve this for you, other than what I previously suggested.

To reach Bell Home phone tech support, please call: 1 866 310-BELL (2355) or dial #611 from any Bell mobile device.

Take care.

Since my posts above I still have the same issue and i need to call from my cell phone if i want to hear and delete my messages. I have concluded that Bell either cannot fix this or chooses not to. I will cancel this service soon as sadly it does not work

I am scratching my head here. Why would you have to call from another phone? Why not use the voicemail system of the other phone instead? Does not seem logical and it was never like this before with the copper wires. The system should not rely on another phone to work. What if someone does not have another phone? Very odd to me.

I have 22 messages in Call answer and cannot access them.

When I answer the first message, listen to it and then try to delete it, my keys seem to be disabled as the delete (7) and save (9) keys do not work.

During the message there are some tones or beeps, could they disable my keys?

We had this issue this week. Called Bell and our phone company but figured it out by searching online. Turns out once we changed our security password - everything worked again - 7 to delete, 9 to save, # to skip message etc. For some reason we were unable to move past any messages out of nowhere but we solved the issue ourselves…

This happened to us this week. I’ve posted how we fixed it (change your voicemail login password) 🙂
