We know how important your internet is for work, school and all the connected devices in your home and business.
When your internet goes down, you’ll want to quickly understand why so you can get it up and running as quickly as possible. Is it an outage unique to your location or is it a wider issue effecting your neighbourhood and beyond?
You can check for an Internet outage in your area by visiting Outage Check
. Just enter your postal code and the tool will confirm if your area is experiencing an outage, along with the estimated time of when the service will be restored.
When there is an outage, our technicians work as quickly as possible to diagnose and solve the issue. Their number one priority is to get your internet up and running.
If you would like to sign up for alerts about outages in your immediate area, please follow the directions below.
Log in to MyBell
and sign up for notifications.
From MyBell
select My Profile > Service outage notifications > Edit > toggle Receive outage notifications on and choose either the mobile number, email address or add a new email address to be notified > click Save
From the MyBell app, select the profile silhouette from the top right corner > Profile > Profile information > Under Communication Preferences select Service outage notification preferences > toggle Receive outage notifications on and choose either the mobile number, email address or add a new email address to be notified > click Save
You will be notified when your Internet services are affected by an outage and as soon as they become known, you will be notified of the cause and estimated time of resolution.
What if you are experiencing internet issues and there isn’t an outage in your area?
In this case, the outage is likely limited to your location. There are a couple of things you can do to identify and solve the problem:
The Virtual repair tool
is a great way to troubleshoot problems with your Wi-Fi and Internet service – without having to be a tech expert. If the Virtual repair tool confirms your issue needs a technician, it will help you book an appointment

or check out our troubleshooting tips
for your specific modem. They are a good resource to fix the issue yourself.
