I have a Google Pixel 7 phone and was accessing my Sympatico email through Outlook without issues for four weeks. Now, when I tap the Outlook icon I get a Sign in prompt for my sympatico email address. When I enter my password nothing happens. It returns to the previous Sign in prompt. I reset my phone which cleared the problem for a couple of hours. Now it's prompting me to sign in again, without success. I am still able to log in through Chrome, Edge, and my Samsung Email app on my S7 Galaxy.

I travel a lot. The only thing I did different this time is briefly switch back to the Bell sim to retrieve an important text message. That's when the problem began.

If you are outside Canada, that, as the expression goes, changes everything. And that is the source of your issue. Bell mail servers are not available outside of Canada. Your only option is to forward your Bell e-mail to a mail service without international restrictions, like GMail. See here for more information. The Bell web mail interface will work, however.

Ok... but I've traveled out of Canada literally dozens of times without issue. It's only after turning my bell sim card card on and connecting via roaming in order to access a text that this issue occurred. It seems to have corrupted my settings. Hopefully, I'll be able to fix things once I return. It would seem Bell is not a reliable provider of email to international travellers. That's a surprising revelation.

I am not an international traveller now, but providers want customers to use their proprietary services and their networks. I remember travelling to South Asia twenty years ago and being astonished at the difference in cost between calling Canada with a local long distance calling card and Bell Canada’s calling card. Little has changed except technology. Bell wants you to use the web mail interface or their international cell roaming option. There are also security considerations. Unrestricted access from third party providers to Bell’s network is a security risk. I want to be clear that I don’t agree or disagree; just some observations from many years of engagement as a customer. And I don’t now or have ever worked for Bell.
Thank you for your patience on this, too. We live in a constantly changing world. This is no exception.

You are likely entirely correct about this. Serving it's clients needs has never been Bell's strong point. It's rather bizarre though that Bell thinks anyone would be interested in using something as primitive and clunky as its webmail. I've begun transitioning away from using Bell mail, which seems to be the best longterm solution.

I cannot get past the error of authentication when trying to add my Bell.net email account to Outlook.
I have followed every step to the T suggested by both Bell and Microsoft re SMTP and and IMAP and/or POP settings, but I am confronted with the error "Invalid Credential / InteractionRequired"
As prompted for a password, I have entered my bell.net email password -- I have also tried (as suggested at some point) to enter my BELL Media primary account password.
Nothing is working.
What does it take to get my Bell webmail syched/imported to my Outlook account so I can effectively use my Bell webmail.

Good Day & Welcome.
You can configure Bell email to work with your email software using either POP or IMAP settings. We recommend using IMAP because it provides useful functions, such as syncing your folders and messages across multiple devices. You do not need to use your MyBell primary Username or password. You’ll need your Bell email address and password, plus one of the following server settings.
Please provide us in detail what it is you are trying to achieve and the steps you have taken thus far.
- Which version of Outlook are you using? Classic Outlook, New Outlook for Windows or the app Outlook
- Which version of Windows are you using Windows 10 or 11?
- Are you using Microsoft OneDrive?
- Are you trying to migrate / integrate & move your existing Bell emails into Outlook for the first time or are you trying to setup your Bell email account using Outlook on a going forward basis?
- Tell us more about the device you are going to use? Laptop, tablet, smartphone, operating system, browser, app, etc.
