My Bell webmail always works from my desktop computer in Canada. However it often does not work in Canada from my Samsung android or Apple Iphone cellphones. It just hangs and will not connect, as it did this morning.
To fix the problem, Bell advised me to have cellphone software update or call customer service (no help).
However, when webmail will not connect I have found that1) for my android if I select desktop site or 2) for the iphone I go to settings, select Safari, and select desktop site, I can always get in to Bell webmail. Once in, I then get out of webmail (the desktop site is useless for viewing) and then immediately back in to webmail the usual way (no desktop site).
This is only a temporary fix. I have been advised not to use the Bell app.
Any comments? Does the above make sense? Why does it work? Anyone have a permanent fix? Will the above work on overseas problem with webmail?

Hi there @S11, thanks for your post and welcome to the Bell Community.
We would just like to clarify, is this issue happening when you log into Bell Webmail directly on our website, or are you using a third party email client such as Outlook/Apple Mail?
Are you connected using cellular data or Wi-Fi when this occurs? Do you get any type of error message that you can share with us?
We recommend that you reboot your devices and clear all history to see if that makes a difference.

Hi Patricia,
The problem occurs when trying to log into bell webmail directly, on either an iphone or android. Using desktop computer Bell webmail always works fine for me.
Am connected to wi-fi. No error message, cellphone just hangs.
Rebooting cellphone multiple times does not help. Problem is sporadic but persists. A Bell Mobility salesperson was aware of the problem and immediately said to enable desktop site on cellphone when this happens (please tell me why that works temporarily), but others in Bell sales and no one in Bell customer service that I have ever contacted are aware of problem and know how to fix. Accessing Bell webmail on a cellphone should be seamless.
Also, can you please confirm whether webmail now works outside of Canada (we will be travelling outside of Canada soon)? If it does not work, or requires a fix, can you please advise where Bell on its website has advised customers that there will be a problem if you try to access webmail outside of Canada and how to fix (a forum is not sufficient warning to customers).
Thanks

Thank you for clarifying @S11 🙂
Very interesting. Can you share which type of browser you're using on each device, and if you've had a chance to test on any other browser?
As suggested in the thread that we posted above, when travelling outside of North America it's best to log into your Bell email account directly using Bell Webmail.

Safari on Iphone, Chrome on Samsung android. Trying to access bell webmail is not seamless, often fails.
