Change guest or main security protocol Hub 4k

Hi,

I was wondering if it's possible to change the guest or main wifi to wpa or wep ?

I want to be able to connect my old console (psp wii)  into the internet. for a brief moment.

I know it is not secure but I can't find other way to do it beside changing the security protocol.

If it's possible could you please explain how to do it.

I wad able to do it with hub 3000 but can't seem to find where in hub 4000

Thank you!

Hi @SpicyCurry

An earlier version of WPA is available, but not WEP.

Maybe this will help (from the HH4K dashboard help screens):

"WPA-PSK (TKIP): The initial version of WPA.

  • Use only if your devices do not support the newer WPA2 protocol
  • May only operate at slower speed since it is not compliant with the N or AC interface types
  • Use a word or phrase (no spaces) as a password, between 8 to 26 characters"

You'll need to get to the menus for configuring wifi. I haven't done this in months, but the steps should be:

  1. log into the HH4K dashboard
  2. click on "Manage My Wifi"
  3. turn off Whole Home Wifi
  4. save the settings change
  5. reload, to get back to step 2
  6. change the security setting to WPA-PSK TKIP for the wifi band your console will need to use

If this is a one-time-only change, then revert back to Whole Home Wifi.

Thank you so much that was a tricky one to know. I had no idea that advance setting will appear if I turn off wi-fi!
