Our fibe service was not working for several days. When it finally started working again our modem name had changed as had the pass word. Also it shows 53 devices using it and most of them are devices we don't own and never had. What isgoing  on with this?

Good Day.

It appears that Bell modem did a factory reset after your service was restored. The Wi-Fi network name and connected devices have reverted to a previous state. This was likely caused by your service outage. This can be easily corrected. To view & rename or delete unknown devices connected to your Wi-Fi network you can do so by downloading the Bell Wi-Fi app to your mobile device.

  1. Open the Bell Wi-Fi app and log in with your MyBell username and password. Get help logging in to the Bell Wi-Fi app.
  2. Touch the People icon at the bottom of the home screen.
  3. Touch Devices. Under the device name, you can see how long the device has been online or the last time it was connected.
  4. Select a device to learn more about it. Under the device name, you’ll see its connection quality rating, what channel it’s on and other device details.
  5. To rename a device or assign it to a user, select the device and then touch the three dots in the top right corner. You can then select Nickname or Assigned to.

You can also manage your modem settings & the devices connected and their usage by logging in to your Bell modem. The default administrator password for a Bell modem is usually the serial number located on the sticker on the back of the modem. You can also find the Wi-Fi network name and password on this sticker

Your modem provides tools that lets you see the activity that’s taking place on your network.

  1. Open your web browser and visit bell.ca/mymodem or 192.168.2.1
  2. You can change your Wi-Fi network name and password in the Manage my Wi-Fi section.
  3. You can also checkout the devices that are connected in My devices. If you select the Advanced tab & the pencil icon, you can rename your devices that have connected to your modem. You can also choose to Forget any previous device that is no longer connected to your Wi-Fi network

Manage your modem’s settings in the interface of the Home Hub 3000 and 4000, and the Giga Hub

Should you require further assistance, please reach out to Bell Internet Tech support. The online technician will be able to assist you in resetting your modem to its previous setup. Please call: 1 866 310-BELL (2355)

I did call Bell last night when we couldn't find our modem to use the Wi-Fi. They said they couldn't restore our previous set up, they just changed the name and password for us.

Thank you. I tried logging into the WI-FI app which I have already but it just keeps telling me "Account not found in plume cloud" I tried the same login info I have used previously but just keep getting this message.

Good Day @Redwolfb8

Thank you for updating the community. As I suspected, your modem was factory rest due to the Internt outage you experienced.

If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.

Take care.
