Hi All,

Is there a way to reduce the Wifi transmit power ? I couldn't find that option on the Home Hub 4000 admin page.

Hi there. Thanks for your post, and welcome to the Bell Community.

Great question 🙂

@humbled & @ZaneP This one's a little tricky because you will have to turn Whole Home Wi-Fi OFF in your modem GUI to be able to view that setting.

Simply follow these steps to reduce the Wi-Fi transmission on your Home Hub 4000.

  • Log in to your modem GUI (192.168.2.1)
  • Touch Manage my Wi-Fi
  • Turn Whole Home Wi-Fi OFF (note: this will disconnect pods and app + remove any Wi-Fi optimization settings)
  • Go to Advanced settings
  • Adjust transmit power

Let the Community know if you have any other questions.

Hi @humbled

That option isn't accessible on the HH4000 dashboard. You would have to attach and enable wifi on your own router (one that has that feature) and turn off wifi on the HH.

Cheers,

Hello i put myself on the 5 ghz band and i left everyone else on the 2.4ghz and i was wondering how much i could lower the transmit power of the 2.4ghz until it becomes noticeable?  None of the devices on the 2.4 require a lot of bandwidth. Thanks 😄
