I had Bell Fibe for a while and it was the 150 package. Prices kept climbing so switched to Cogeco. Then Bell came back with a great offer, but the max speed in my area is now the Fibe 50 package… What happened? Why did Bell downgrade my area so significantly? This speed cannot do multiple activities at the same time!

Good Day.
I am quite sure that Bell Internet would like to upgrade your package from Fibe 50 to Fibe 150. This sounds to me to be an equipment provisioning issue. A lack of facilites at the remote. The Bell remote box in your neighbourhood may have reached capacity for the number of Fibe 50 & 150 connections it can service.
You can check back with Bell Customer Service to see the if there any plans to expand the remote hardware.
Take care.

I have had the fibe50 now for almost a year. I am sick and freaking tired of this ridiculous service!! I can hardly watch YouTube without constant freezing. I cannot even just browse the web without having frequent freezing. The wifi signal always shows strong but everything acts like there is no wifi. Why does Bell so bad? I had Bell before, in the same home, and it was decent. Ever since they went to Fibe it just!
Why is it so freaking bad!! I had dial up years ago that was faster!

Perform a speed test from within the modem to ensure the profile speed is correct: speed test

I am in Montreal and have Fibe 50. After 3 technical support call and change modem (3000) I was able to obtain only 41 Mbps in download. I think there hub is oversaturated.
Technical support cannot tell if the trouble is in the CO but they are sure all connection are allright.
What can I do?

I have since purchased a 'range extender' from Amazon and since then my speeds have been MUCH improved. Seems the Home Hub 3000 is extremely under-powered for wi-fi transmission. To think, a $40 no-name range extender is capable of resolving this issue so easily really leaves me wondering what kind of junk Bell is passing on to their customers!

Hi there @Sylvie,
Thank you for reaching out to the Bell Community.
What type of Internet service do you have (Fibe or Wireless Home Internet)?
Can you share a photo of your recent speed test showing the speed to your modem?
Hope to hear from you,
