The McAfee firewall doesn't turn on.
In installed the free version of McAfee that all Bell Fibe Internet subscribers have access to yesterday. When I turn on the console, the display shows an exclamation point in a triangle with the message Turn on Firewall under it.
When I click the Turn on button, it displays the usual cute animation graphioc to show that something is happening. Then the app again shows that the firewall is still off, with the same exclamation poin in triangle graphic and Turn on button as before. Clicking that button does literally nothing.
Is this just a gimmick? Should I pay for real security software, or have real humans actually got this thing to work?
Solved! Go to Solution.

I have just installed Bell McAfee and am having the same issue. I turned off the Apple firewall but it would still not install McAfee firewall. MacBook Air M1202 Sequoia 15.2. Would like to hear the solution. In the meantime will turn back on Apple OS firewall.

Hello there @freedog16
Thank you for reaching out to the Bell Community.
Can you share what happens when you try to turn on the firewall, for example is there an error message? Do you have any issues activating on a different device?

Sure. I have installed the program three times and get the same result. First it stalls when noting that it is updating my profile. After waiting an hour for that step I just skip that step and go to the main menu where it shows that I have not turned on the firewall or the Web advisor. No error messages appear when I try to activate the firewall. In fact it seems to accept the toggle and turns green and then I lock the settings. But when I return to the main page it tells me the firewall is off and if I return to the firewall tab it is indeed off even though I locked it showing it was on.
In terms of the webadvisor, I use duck duck go as a browser so it will not be useful for me. I have not tried to activate on another device.

I now have a more serious issue. When I turned my laptop off and turned it back on later the Internet security failed to load. I cannot load it from the applications folder. It was set to load at login. See screenshots. So now I have no protection. The message “ The McAfee Security from Bell - Good software failed to launch comes up every couple of minutes. I cannot stop that message. I will have to uninstall the software.

Hi @freedog16,
Thanks for your reply 🙂
Before reinstalling Bell McAfee can you run the Pre Install tool that we link to here
? It will check your system to ensure it meets the system requirements.
Let us know how everything is going.
