No WiFi on HH3000 after firmware update

I've gone through 3 Home Hub 3000 modems this week that all fail to broadcast their SSID for a Fibe TV only service that requires WiFi.

Did Bell brick the Hub Home 3000's WiFi in the latest firmware update?

The channel for Fibe TV is always hidden. The Fibe TV boxes will pick it up, but it cannot be used for any other purposes.

Well, after 7 hours of tech support calls with 3 different Hub 3000 units this week, the 3rd light on the right won't light up to sync it with the Fibe TV. We even changed the Fibe TV box. This is such a disaster.

If you have not already tried it, you can use the virtual repair tool to repair most issues.

I am not sure what tv box you have, but if it's this tv box then the third light on the right is the light to indicate it's recording. It would normally be off, unless you are recording something.

Yes, I tried using the the virtual repair tool before spending 2.5 hours on a chat with Bell support last night. It's the 3rd light on the modem that I need to press and hold for 10 seconds that doesn't work, so there's no way to connect it to the Fibe TV box. There's no computer in the apartment to manually configure it using the RJ45 port either. This has been such a frustrating experience.

ok, the third light on the modem is the WPS button. You should hold it for 10 seconds, then press the select button on the fibe tv box remote.

Now pending on how far away the box is from the modem, you might have a different issue. But if you bring the fibe tv box next to the modem, it should work no problem.

Once it's set you can move it back to the normal location, and if it does not work there you have a poor WiFi signal.

link fibe tv box to modem.

Forgot to add it needs to be 10 seconds. If less you get it blinking for 2 minutes, which will not work for the tv box. It needs to blink 5 minutes for the fibe tv box setup.

Well, pressing the unlit WPS button for 10 seconds had no effect even after pressing the select button on the remote. It's time to just get something else.
