Should the bell modem be plugged into a power bar to provide surge protection in case of power outages?

Hi @BBCC ,
I assume you're using the HH4000, which has no backup battery. If you are concerned about power outages, you should plug your Home Hub into a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply).
This will give you sufficient time to properly shut down the modem and any other gear you have plugged in to the UPS.
