Can you provide specifics in terms of the devices that you can not store & rename? Is your app current & up to date:? iOS & OS up to date? Have you rebooted your device?
The Wi-Fi app will only show devices connected directly to your Wi-Fi network. The access point will show all connected devices to your internet. You should able to change their names to by selecting the device, the 3-dots, Nickname, change name & save.
You can only remove People & Devices in the Wi-Fi app if they are offline.
Open up the Wi-Fi App > Select the centre icon at the bottom of the page > "People". Now Select > "Devices" next to the "People" icon. You will no see a list of Devices & Name on line. Scroll down the list > You will now see devices that are not online. Select > whichever Device & Name that is offline that you wish to remove, > Slide it sideways, > Select > "Remove".
What is the Bell Wi-Fi app and how do I use it?

If you can provide further information, let us know, & we will once again try to help you.

The names typically come from the device. You can try changing the Apple device names as per These instructions

You are trying to rename a device that has already been previously named when you initially set up these devices.
Log in to your iPhone & your iPad. > Go to Settings > Select General > Select About > Select Name > Enter the name you wish to use for the device: E.g. Bob's iPad , Bob's iPhone . Select > Done
You are now good to go!
If you back up these devices to iTunes or iCloud, their back & restore names will also take on their new device names if you a choose to back them up. To remove the old backups after doing a new back up with the new names, Select Edit > Select Preferences > Select Devices >Select Device Backup > Select Delete Backup. You can also change the name in iTunes by selecting the Device name & renaming it on the iTunes screen when it is connected.
Enjoy!
Take care.

i would like to rename a device in the bell wifi app ..it’s a Chromebook
i have clicked x remove the name and typed in the new name saved it but it keeps the old name
i have clicked on the nick names and change it but it keeps the old name
i have removed the bell wifi app and downloaded it again and the same old name appears for this Chromebook
i disabled the wifi connection to the Chromebook and re connect but still the same name comes up
The chromebook doesn’t have a name when I searched it on the device
I was able to switch or correct the names of other devices on the app and I even removed the device from the app but it still comes back as the same device name

Good Day.
Each of your devices will have a MAC Address & when connected to your Wi-Fi network will also be assigned an IP address by your modem. Your easiest method of determining which device is which, is to turn off the Wi-Fi to each device & turn the Wi-Fi back on, one at a time, in order to identify each Wi-Fi connected device.
To view & rename all of the devices connected to your Wi-Fi network you can do so by downloading the Bell Wi-Fi app to your mobile device.
- Open the Bell Wi-Fi app and log in with your MyBell username and password. Get help logging in to the Bell Wi-Fi app.
- Touch the People icon at the bottom of the home screen.
- Touch Devices. Under the device name, you can see how long the device has been online or the last time it was connected.
- Select a device to learn more about it. Under the device name, you’ll see its connection quality rating, what channel it’s on and other device details.
- To rename a device or assign it to a user, select the device and then touch the three dots in the top right corner. You can then select Nickname or Assigned to.

You can also manage your modem settings & monitor the devices connected and their usage by logging in to your Bell modem.
Your modem provides tools that lets you see the activity that’s taking place on your network.
- Open your web browser and visit bell.ca/mymodem or 192.168.2.1.
- Click My usage.
- The information displayed is over a 30-day period.
- Use the predefined date ranges or specify custom ranges to display usage.
- You can also checkout the devices that are connected in My devices. If you select the Advanced tab & the pencil icon, you can rename your devices that have connected to your modem.
Manage your modem’s settings in the interface of the Home Hub 3000 and 4000, and the Giga Hub
Let us know if you require further assistance.
Take care.

Hello, I went through the trouble of renaming all my devices on the Bell WiFi App so that I could easily identify each one, but after a few days, each name reverts back to the original plain (default) name and I can’t tell certain items apart. Is there a way to make the nicknames “stick”?

When we customize the names of our devicest however, every 24 hours or so, they reset back to generic names like “Apple iPhone 15” or “iPad.” I’m curious to know why these names don’t stay when we update them.

Hey there @JoLynn44
Thank you for reaching out to the Bell community 🙂
Can you check and see if MAC address randomization is enabled on the iPhone/iPad, and test by turning it off if it is enabled?
Since the Bell Wi-Fi app uses MAC addresses as an identifier for naming devices, a randomized MAC could prevent the name from sticking since the app will see it as a new device each time it connects.
