iOS 17 has brought a new Live Voicemail feature to your iPhone.
Live Voicemail allows you to read a transcript of a voicemail that is being recorded by a caller in real-time.
Good to know
- Live Voicemail is automatically activated upon updating to iOS 17
- When active, your current voicemail greeting is replaced with a generic message
- If you subscribe to basic voicemail Message Centre
(not iPhone Visual Voicemail), a call intercepted by Live Voicemail can only be accessed via your iPhone’s Phone app voicemail tab. Not by dialing your mobile number as you normally would.
To continue using your basic voicemail and/or to prevent the consumption of data and voice minutes while roaming; Live Voicemail must be disabled.
How to turn Live Voicemail off
- Go to Settings
- Tap Phone
- Tap Live Voicemail
- Slide Live Voicemail to off
