How to call home while in Western Europe

I am paying 16$ per day to roam with Bell Mobility in Western Europe but cannot even place a call home. I tried 01 plus a 10-digit number, just 1 plus a 10-digit number, nothing works and nothing evident in MyBell online in the way of support. Pretty frustrating.

What am I missing?

Calling Home

Whether dialing from a mobile phone or landline, this is how to call the US or Canada from Europe:

  1. Dial 00, Europe's international access code, or enter + from any mobile phone.
  2. Dial 1, the country code for the US and Canada.
  3. Dial the phone number, including area code.

For example if you want to call this Canadian number from Europe: 1-123-456-7890, you would dial the number as follows:

Calling from a landline you would dial: 00-1-123-456-7890

Calling from a mobile phone you would dial :+-1-123-456-7890
