Hi there, @KM. Welcome to the Bell Community, and thanks for your post.
Generally speaking, you'll be able to see which provider you're locally connecting through for roaming at the top of your phone screen - Verizon in the US, NTT Docomo in Japan, and so on. If you're unable to do so, or want to review additional options for local providers, you'll need to go into the network settings in your phone.
iOS / iPhone:
- From your Home screen, tap Settings
- Tap Cellular
- Tap Cellular Network or Network Selection
- Tap the Automatic switch to turn off
- Once available, networks will appear. At this point, you may select your desired local carrier.
Android / Samsung:
- From your Home screen, swipe down and tap the Settings icon in the top right
- Tap Connections
- Tap Mobile networks
- Tap the switch to turn Select automatically off
- Once available, networks will appear. At this point, you may select your desired local carrier.
On our Coverage map
on our website, you can also select the country in question that you're traveling to and then select Partner network information - this will provide you with a list of all local providers in that country that Bell officially has an agreement with.
Let us know if you have any further questions.
