Almost every time I leave my house recently, I lose service, in normally active areas, until I restart my phone. Pixel 7a, physical SIM card, wifi calling enabled. Is this issue affecting anyone else? How can I fix it?

Disabling adaptive connectivity seems to have fixed the issue for me, I haven't had any more connectivity problems in the past three days.
To disable adaptive connectivity on Android 14 on Pixel, open the settings app, then select "Network and Internet". Adaptive connectivity will be at the bottom of the list, just select it then toggle the switch on the next screen to disable it.
For context to be used in troubleshooting purposes, I live in a relatively rural area, about 20 minutes from a large town. I don't have good cell service at my house, and use a cell booster. I also have Wifi calling enabled on my device. Losing service when leaving my house would be normal, but it would usually reconnect about 3 minutes down the road. Ever since the update to Android 14 my device would not reconnect, and I would have to restart my device to reconnect to the network. But after disabling adaptive connectivity the issue seems to be resolved.
I wonder if the adaptive connectivity feature was introduced in Android 14, or its functionality was changed in the update. I plan on submitting feedback to Google regarding its malfunctioning, and recommend anyone else encountering this issue to disable it and submit feedback.

It has been 10 days since I changed the preferred network type to 'LTE', and I haven't had any more connectivity problems. This workaround seems to work in my case, so I'm marking it as helpful.
However, I live in a rural area where there is zero 5G coverage, so for urban areas with heavy 5G coverage this solution may not be ideal.
To change the preferred network type on the Pixel 7a: Settings app > Network and Internet > Internet > Hit the gear icon next to 'Bell' > Scroll down and hit 'Preferred network type' and change it from '5G (recommended)' to 'LTE'.

Thanks for the link! I've tried resetting the mobile network settings, and after a few days with the phone I will let you and everyone else know if the issue has been resolved.

Unfortunately I lost connection today when driving into town. It seems resetting mobile network settings did not resolve the issue.

I have tried disabling "Adaptive connectivity" in Pixel 7a mobile network settings and will provide an update in a few days.

Thats' odd. I just got off the phone with a Bell Tech person and he said that this is the first he has heard of this connectivity issue (I also have a Google Pixel 7Pro).
Luckily for me, the chat person called me and connected me with the tech guy. The tech guy helped me by telling me that the chat person already created a ticket and someon else would call me in 24-48 hours. I am really not sure what his job was.

I am using pixel 7 and bell 5G network plan. Nevertheless, the signal is very very weak in my home, and actually I just live in the condo of Uptown Markham. It should be fully covered under 5G network. Besides, when I use my phone to browse the website outside (no matter when I in park, downtown, or even travelling go train etc), it works properly for a while and will disconnect suddenly. Even I switch off the data and on again it also doesn't work. The only way I can do is to restart my mobile phone!! This situations happened for few times a day!! Thus I want to know what is the problem causing me to have this poor experience!

Unfortunately, the problem as returned after several days. It seems disabling adaptive connectivity helped for a few days, but after a while its effectiveness stopped.
I have now tried changing the preferred network type from "5G" to "LTE". I will report back with my findings in a few days.
