When in the UK, If I remove the Bell SIM card and replace with a UK SIM card, will the roam better feature be disabled? I want it to be, and assume it will be, but just double checking. Thx.

Hey there @jdmed,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post.

Roam BetterOpens in a new tab or window is a feature on your Bell Mobility Plan that is only activated once your SIM card connects to a network outside of Canada. Therefore if you remove your SIM card prior to arriving in the country and connecting to their network, Roam Better will not be activated.

Happy traveling.

Hi @jdmed

Im not sure which device you are using but many of the newer ones offer duel sim.  This means you can use your Bell mobile services and roam better along with an international sim at the same time. Very convenient for travellers that want to continue receiving calls on their primary phone # but also have the option for lower rates with international carrier.

Good luck

That’s interesting thx Vossy. My family all has iPhone 11’s. In this case I really didn’t want 3 phones on the Roam Better $14/day for 10 days! My wife and kids are over in Belfast and bought EE SIM cards and it seems to be working well. Didn’t realize that with the Bell SIM card removed you still can iMessage on wifi. Probably obvious but never thought about it before. Cheers.

What happens when I take out my sim card for over seas travel?
