Is there a way to have a data share group where only one plan is providing the data?
With the new plans you get 120gb shareable (90gb more than my current) but to share it the other plan also needs to have the 120gb shareable (100gb above their current) totaling 240gb (190gb above what we need). Is there a better way? What happened to family share where everyone worked off the primary’s data?

At this time, all members of a shareable group must have a shareable data plan to be included in the group. The mobility family shareable plan that you mention has not been available for a few years. In terms of shareable plans, this is your best & only option offered by Bell mobility today.

As is the case with everything in life, offered plans can & will probably change with the passing of time.

Take care.

Can I add another phone to my sharable plan that I am on.

Depends on your current shareable plan. Yes you can if your current shareable plan is still available & being offered by Bell Mobility.

Take care.

Nothing on the Bell site shows how to add a new user to a data share group.

Bell do not answer their phones and the bell chat bot does not include Mobility - you cannot do anything related to mobility via online chat.

Thank you for your question This link tells you all about shareable groups, including how to add users. You can also access it through the MyBell web page or MyBell app. Look under RatePlans and Features > Help for Monthly and Prepaid Plans > Using Shareable Plans.

My girlfriend and I are sharing a data plan that was created with BYOD. Both of us want to upgrade to newer phones. Do we have to each open a seperate data plans or can we upgrade and continue to share the amount of data we currently have?

If the devices you are using is on a BYOD plan, you can purchase new devices outright. This would not affect the current plan you are on. If your current SIM does not support 5G compatibility, & you wish to buy a device with 5G and want to replace your SIM, you can do so. You can also update your new phone information on MyBell in Manage my device after you purchase it.

To order a new SIM you can call Bell Mobility or drop in to a Bell Mobility store location.

However, if you acquired the new phone via a hardware upgrade on your MyBell profile under a 24 month agreement, you will need to activate the order via your profile once received and the plans you would have selected while doing the order will be used & become your new plans.

Let the Community know if you have more questions.

I'm already aware of all of this. The issue I'm having is when I go to upgrade device in the bell app it seems like I have to activate TWO new data plans, one per new device. What I'm asking is can I activate TWO new devices and have them shared on ONE data plan? (Which is similar to what I have now, 2 BYODs sharing 90GBs)

If you want to keep your same shared plan, you are not going to upgrade your device or plan on MyBell. You are going to purchase your devices from wherever. If you purchase your device from lets say Apple, Samsung, etc., all you need to do is update your new phone information on MyBell in Manage my device.  After you purchase your new phone, you will login to MYBell & select the device that is being replaced & make changes in Manage my Sim and device.

If you wish to upgrade your device on MYBell via the hardware upgrade you will need to change your shared plan to whichever 2 yr. plan you so desire. (Please reference my earlier reply for further details.)

I would suggest if you plan on making any changes, it will be much easier to complete them by logging in to MYBell with any web browser.

Take care.

I am retired and I want to understand shareable. If all three of my devices are iphone, ipad and apple watch do I need a shareable plan.

Hello,

I have unused data in my plan. My plan is sharable.  Can I share my data with someone else's mobile device and add them as a subscriber to my plan?

My friend's mobile service is from another company other than Bell.

If yes, could you tell me the steps on how to do it?

I don't mean sharing it through Bluetooth or hotspot, I mean sharing it through my plan even when we are physically distant.

Thank you so much

I have 4 phones on my account and switched one to a shareable data plan. How do I share the data with another phone line on my plan ?

What is the most cost effective rate plan for 2 existing bell customers ( my wife and I) that offers unlimited shareable data for both plans?

Thank you for your question, As it is related to Bell sales and the forum is a peer to peer support site, we can't really help you with plan specifics. You might go to a Bell store and ask your question or browse the Bell web page. https://www.bell.ca/
