Bell app won’t let me enter my credit card to pay

I am trying to use the bell mobility app to pay. When I choose to pay now, I see a credit card form. When I copy the card number from my digital wallet, and switch back to the app, “paste” is disabled on the keyboard. How do I paste the card number into the form?

Hey there @Danjonwig

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post.

For safety and security, your credit card information (name on card, billing address and identification numbers) must be entered manually and cannot be copy and pasted.

Give that a try and let us know.

Good Day & Welcome to the bell Community Forum.

This is a community forum; a peer-to-peer site. As such, we do not have access to your account & billing details.

There is little we can do for you on this site if your bill is already overdue. You need to set up & process another method of payment today. Time is definitely not on your side.

There are many other payments options readily available for you to choose from. You can make a one time bank or credit card payment on MyBell. This would be your quickest method for processing your payment to Bell. After making your payment, there is a link in the One Bill section of MyBell where you can Notify Bell that you have made a payment.

Paying my bill online (bell.ca)

You can pay your bill online by logging in to your financial institutions application or website & setting upBELL ONE BILL - 14 DIGITS as a payee.

You will need your 14 Digit Customer ID number. If you log into your MyBell online account and click on the "View current bill" button you will see a bar or section with your account information.  On the right side of this section you will see your "Customer ID number". It should look like this:

Customer ID number
123456789ZZZ009
(14-digits number for online/telebanking)

If more desirable, you can also set up a pre- authorized payment or one-time payment with either your bank account or credit card on MyBell. You can select any of the following methods of payment:

  1. Pre-authorized payments from a bank account
  2. Pre-authorized payments by credit card
  3. One-time bank account payments
  4. One-time credit card payments

Thank you for your question.

Take care.

Thank you. So that I understand: I believe you are saying that it is the position of Bell Canada (BCE) that digital wallets are not secure forms of payment?

Could you point us to somewhere that this official position is stated?

Hey @Danjonwig. As we've advised above, you cannot copy and paste credit card numbers, names, addresses in the MyBell app. This is an added security measure.

Hi,

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, all the firmware and software is up to date and I have been using my Virtual Visa credit card from a big bank here in Canada for the past 5 or so years to pay my bill online with Bell with no issues until to night in app and on the browser (Windows 10 [latest update and patches], Opera [up to date]) that I've never used to visit the bell website before. I followed previous advice for cell phones to uninstall, power down, power up, and reinstall the application and nothing has worked.

My billing date is a bit of an odd one so as I get paid on the 2nd last business day of the month, my bill is already overdue (which has never been an issue before) and I don't exactly have 3-5 business days to wait to process it through my bank (I never make payments through my bank). How can I clear up this issue?
