I was just alerted by my credit monitoring system that a credit alert was placed on my name by Bell Mobility and that a new number was added to my name (I think) for a phone number that I am not familiar with.
Any suggestions anyone?

How were you alerted? Email, phone call, text message, etc.? Do not open any web links or download any attachments that may be included.
Were you contacted by one of the credit bureaus in Canada? Equifax, Transfax, etc. Did you receive a notification from them?
This could be just another example of a scam or fraud artist trying to access your personal information & steal from you.
Have you contacted Bell Customer Service accounts & billing to confirm the legitimacy of the credit alert & to verify if any changes were made to your mobility account? Please call: 1 800 667-0123 or dial *611 from any Bell mobile device.
Please have a look at the following:

Never share any information with anyone you do not know or trust!

Alert came from trans union. Alert was posted in my trans union account. Spoke to bell and they have no record of the credit alert or who the number is registered too. I have put in a dispute with the credit bureau to have the number removed as it is part of my profile.
Maybe someone is trying to spoof my name using a phone number registered to my profile???
Not sure what someone is trying to accomplish with this but I know having a fake number registered to me is the first move.
