I set up automatic bell payment through Tangerine and it says on MyBell that I am late paying it.
❗AI Summary:
When you set up pre-authorized payments, the withdrawal of funds from your bank account or credit card does not happen immediately on the next bill's due date. It's important to note that it can take one full billing cycle for pre-authorized payments to become active after you first enroll. For this reason, it is recommended to make a manual payment for your first bill after setting up pre-authorized payments to avoid any late fees.
You can review your billing and payment history, including your bill date, due date and any upcoming pre-authorized payment dates, by logging into MyBell.
Key Factors Influencing Pre-Authorized Payment Timing
Billing Cycle: Your bill is issued on the same date each month, and this date is typically determined by when services were first activated. Bell services are billed one month in advance and payment processing times are determined by the type of pre-authorized payment chosen.
Payment Method Processing Time:
- Pre-authorized debit: Withdrawals from a bank account can take up to 18 calendar days to be processed after your bill date.
- Pre-authorized credit card: Payments made with a credit card are typically processed within 7 business days after your bill date.

Good Day & Welcome.
Bell processes all payments upon receipt from your financial institution and / or credit card company. Your account is credited when Bell receives these funds.
Ccan you please provide us with further specific details in terms of your payment and your account balance?
- Method of payment.
- When & where you made your payment.
The processing time for your payment is dependent upon the method of payment you choose and when Bell receives the funds from your financial institution:
- Pre-authorized debit: Every month, up to 18 calendar days after the bill date.
- Pre-authorized credit card: debit: Every month, up to 7 business days after the bill date.
If your Bell payment is late due to insufficient funds, a late payment fee is applied to the unpaid balance 30 days after the billing date.
You should: "use your billing date" as Bell's bill processing timeline. If sufficient funds are made available on this date, then you will not be faced with a missed payment.
How long does it take for my Bell payment to be processed?
How you pay your bill and when you pay your bill is entirely within your circle of influence. It is a decision that only you can make.
If you feel that your Bell bill is incorrect, then please call Bell Customer Service at: 1 866 310-BELL (2355) or dial #611 from any Bell mobile device.
Thank you for contacting the Bell Community Forum.
Take care.
