Are people telling you they’re getting spam from your Bell email address?

It’s possible your email address and password were part of a data breach on another website, and someone has access to your account. Or, maybe a virus or adware on your phone, laptop or other device is to blame.

If Bell sees suspicious emails being sent from one of our customers’ accounts, we may lock that account to ensure it’s secure. If you see suspicious activity in your email account, you should reset your Bell email passwordOpens in a new tab or windowright away. We also recommend installing an antivirus program like McAfeeOpens in a new tab or window on all your devices.

Before resetting your password, turn off any other devices you use with Bell email. Then, change your password to something completely new. Don’t reuse old passwords, or use the same password on multiple websites. In fact, if you’ve used your Bell email password on other websites, you should change those passwords too.

And don’t forget to enter the new password on all the other email apps and devices you use to check Bell email. If you don’t, apps that automatically check for new emails might lock you out if the automatic login fails enough times, since it can look like someone is trying to guess your password.

I put all my devices with Bell Fibe, the next day my email was hacked and all of my mail was sent to another address.  It was a nightmare changing and resetting passwords.
