I notice that when watching TV channels (under Guide) the audio output from AppleTV is PCM 2.0 and if I select something from the OnDemand section I get multi channel audio output. Is that normal or is there a way to configure TV audio for multi channel? Does not seem to be an app or AppleTV issue since the app can output multi channel when I select an on demand program. Thank you

Hey StittsvilleGreg. We just wanted to be sure so we double checked and can confirm that this is normal. You will have PCM 2.0 when watching live TV, and multi channel when watching On Demand.
Have a great day! 🙂

Hey @StittsvilleGreg. Thanks for your post, and welcome to the Community.
Has this always been the case, or were you able to select multi channel audio output options in the past when watching a show from your Guide?
What version of Apple TV do you have, and are you running the most up to date version of Bell Fibe TV app?
If you haven't already, can you delete and reinstall the Bell Fibe TV app.

Hi, I have two different setups with two different receivers and both behave the same. One is with AppleTV HD and one is with AppleTV 4K. I deleted the Bell Fibe TV application and reinstalled on both. I still have PCM 2.0 for channels in the Guide section and multi channel when I play something from the History channel on the On Demand section of the Bell Fibe TV application. You mention being able to select multi-channel output Options, I have not seen where to do that.

Hi Patricia,
Are there any roadmap plans for the app to enable multi-channel for watching live TV?
Thank you,

That’s not good! Why can’t Dolby digital be on all the time like the older receivers had? Are we going backwards??
