Baffled -- How to record a series on Bell Fibe?

How do I set the series record option when I want to record a program  series ... but not subsequent reruns of the same program.For example, a program comes on a 8 pm on TVO ... it also is rerun at 10 or 11 that night. But I only want the first airing.

How do I set the options to do that?

Edit by using the dvr instead of apps. But sometimes the feed has problems so actually it’s worth it to record a rerun and delete later.

Here is the issue.
I record both The National and CTV National News nightly.
I schedule the National (CBC) at 9pm. It is on every day except Saturday.  
I schedule CTV National News at 10pm, Monday to Friday with Omar Sachedina and Sat/Sunday with Sandie Rinaldo.
When I look at my scheduled programs, at the end of the approximately 2 weeks that I can schedule, the following is what I now have.
Tuesday Dec 20 and Wednesday Dec 21- The National is scheduled at 9pm, 10pm and 11pm, so I have to go online and delete the recording for 10 and 11.
When it schedules for Saturday and Sunday, the CTV National News gets scheduled for 10 and 11, so I have to go in and delete the extra one,
 
ALL I really want is to be able to schedule a series on a certain day or days AT A SPECIFIC TIME ONLY.
Your system for recording
I have tried "Any Day, Any Time", Any Day, Original Time", and "Anytime, once per day" and NONE of them work the way I want.
Why can't you just have a way to schedule as I describe?

I have an issue with recording series.  I can record the pre race and chequered flag shows on multiple F! races on 1404 as the DVR will automatically schedule these as soon as they appear in the guide.  It will not work with the actual races stating 'recording this content is not permitted'  It also happens with MotoGP races on 1414.

Sports events are techniclly not a series. You should be able to record the pre-show & possibly the race itself. You will need to record each individual race as scheduled & shown in your guide.

Each race is not a series. It is independant of the pre-show.

Races may be included as part of a sport series in the racing world. This is not the case in scheduling, viewing & recording live media. Eg. hockey, baseball, horse racing, wrestling, etc.

There are also many other factors that may limit your ability to view or record a program.E.g. licencing, blackouts, copyright, etc.

Your argument is flawed as when I had Bell satellite it allowed me to record them as a series and also when I had Cogeco..  I have also have no problem with recording Indycar races as a series.  Obviously there is something wrong with the Fibe software.  This is also evident with setting up personal guides.  With Fibe you have to do each receiver, with satellite you only do it once.

I programmed series to record and most are missing 1 or 2 episodes. (I need to fill in the missing episodes by watching via On demand. Not the end of the world,  but, obviously,  not the service I selected. )

I also use my mobile app to record games/shows when I am away from home and those recordings do not show at all on our pvr. 

What is going on?

  1. Which Bell TV service do you subscribe to? Fibe TV, Fibe TV App or Satellite TV?
  2. The Bell TV equipment that you are using at home? model number, TV box, PVR, receiver, device, etc.
  3. Mobile device? Make & model?
  4. Do you have a Bell mode? Model number?

Have you referred to the online manuals & tutorials that are available on Bell support web site for your receiver & remote?

Please have a look at your PVR Series recording settings & adjust the Show type, Keep settings, etc. as required.

The Fibe TV app lets you manage your PVR recordings from anywhere. This feature is only available for Fibe and Satellite TV customers with a PVR. Satellite TV customers must have a 9241, 9400 or 9500 PVR that is plugged in and connected to the Internet. When away from home, you must log in using your MyBell username and password.

What is Fibe TV app and how do I use it?

I have the same issue with my android Fibe TV Streamer. Three scheduled shows weren’t recorded so far this week, other shows scheduled for the same day were recorded. Constantly having to go online to catch the missing shows is NOT what I'm paying for!

The missing shows played on time and my internet was up. I’ve disconnected Homehub and streamer multiple times. In fact, I have to do it do often on the streamer that I had to plug into a smart plug as I got fed up with constantly have to unplug and replug!

  • Which show/channel is this affecting & provide date/timestamps
  • Which receiver are you using, and is this happening on all of the equipment in your home?
  • When logging into the Fibe TV app on a different device do you see the missing/deleted recordings?

  • TVA channel Mario Dumont 10AM weekdays can’t remember which day + Masterchef Quebec plays 19:30 Mon-Tue-Wed-Thu. Masterchef Quebec just happened twice, recently Tue 19th. It's almost a weekly occurence!
  • I only have one receiver, your buggy android streamer that I had to plug into a smart plug due to the fact that resuming a recorder show was impossible without a reboot

We wanted to check in to see if there have been any other scheduled recordings that are not showing since your last post?

This morning I had to cut the power off to the streamer once again as Fibe TV was not loading (black screen)!😡

Not one single episode of Masterchef Quebec as recorded so far this week!😡
My wife is pressuring me me to switch to Videotron!😡

If you are experiencing issues with boot up on the VIP7802, we would recommend performing a factory reset of the device, to see if that resolves the concern. As for the recordings, we would recommend deleted your scheduled recordings and resetting them up to see if it will start recording.
