The point is to not have to stream and use the provided remote as my parents are not willing to have to learn how to stream all of the time.

I don't see the point in buying a smart TV that the suggestion is to just buy another box to stream from as the TV supports other platforms like Netflix, etc as native applications in the TV.

Also, although the quality argument is probably valid for some my parents do not care as long as the process to use is easy.

The Bell remote has less buttons than a traditional tv remote and the buttons bear many same icons though. But what do you mean by “not have to stream”? Are they using a satellite tv subscription?

Hi there @Scubadiver,
Thanks for your post.
For a list of the compatible devices, we recommend checking out the Fibe TV appOpens in a new tab or window section on our site. Once there scroll down to "Watch on any device" and click the "View compatible devices" button.
Hope this helps!

No Bell remote or bell physical product just a native LG Smart TV, and streaming from the Phone application to a Google Chromecast.

Although your answer above was not specific enough to be helpful at all, I received a unfortunate answer direct from LG support.

Quote from the email below.

"Thank you for contacting us with regards to the application on our TV. Upon checking on the Available Applications on all of our TV Models in the Application Section or LG Content Store, Bell Fibe application is not implemented yet on all of our TVs. It usually depends on Bell if they will release it on LG TVs."

Is there a way to get this submitted for future enhancements? Seems like accessing on an LG App would be a beneficial project for Bell

Good Day.

The Fibe TV app is compatible with several TV brands and devices. If you wish to stream Fibe TV on your LG TV, you can do so with any one of the following methods:

Supported devices:

  • Bell Streamer
  • Apple TV, 4th generation or higher
  • AirPlay on Apple TV and AirPlay-enabled TVs
  • All versions of Chromecast
  • Amazon Fire TV (Basic Edition or higher) Firestick

LG TVs don't support the Fibe TV app because they run LG's WebOS operating system, which is different from an Android TV, which is where the Fibe TV app is available. WebOS and Android TV have distinct app ecosystems, with LG TVs using the LG Content Store, not the Google Play Store. This also holds true with Roku that operates under the Linux-based OS.

It is questionable whether any one company will ever engage in developing a program that would address the massive & large platform of TV's, devices, etc. that are available on the market.

Take care.

Not what I asked but thanks for replying. I am aware of the limitations and work arounds. The work arounds I have found clunky.  I am interested in future enhancements.

Good Day.

Thank you for your input and feedback. The Bell development team reviews all ideas and suggestions that are input on this website.

Bell does not generally announce enhancements and changes such as this on the community forum.

Bell did release earlier this week some of their future changes planned for the next 3 years. I have included a few of the highlights for your read.

Bell announced on 25/10/14 several new initiatives to reach more customers, enhance resiliency and deliver the easy experience customers want:

  • Introduction of tiered wireless plans with rates differing based on class of service, content, and handset financing, available now across Canada.
  • Launch of Internet services in British Columbia and Alberta in the coming weeks.
  • Introduction of Unbreakable Internet in Spring 2026, a unique product proposition that ensures ultra resilient Internet that keeps working during power outages through a combination of wireless backups enabled by Bell Mobility 5G smartphones and the fibre network's passive optical technology.
  • Planned elimination of the TV set-top box, as Bell delivers a cutting-edge, full-service experience through apps on devices customers already own.
  • Expansion of Bell Streaming bundles in select markets to include Crave with TSN/RDS, alongside existing partnerships with Netflix and Disney+, and by integrating high-value third party services for AI, gaming, and security.

Take care.
