Bell Satellite TV guide (missing channels)

Looking to see if anyone else is experiencing a similar issue as what I'm seeing and if anyone might know why or how to fix it.  Since the move of all channels from 82W to 91W I seem to have a reduced number of channels on the guide (all channels) on all my recievers. Even though I have basic service I use to be able to see all channels on the guide even if they were ones I did not suscribe to.  For example I can no longer see any of the TSN channels on the guide to mention only a few.  I have already did a check switch and can see all transponders on 91W.  Any thoughs on why this is happening?

Thanks

Hi @KubandCA
Thank you for your post and welcome to the community.
A couple things you can try to see if it resolves the issue is to reboot your equipment. If that does not work, you can attempt to synchronize your channels through your MyBell account. To do this you would log into your MyBellOpens in a new tab or window account, select "Go to TV overview" and there will be a section that says "Synchronize channels".
Looking forward to hearing back how that goes.

What receiver model do you have? Have you tried a hard reboot of your receiver?

I have a 2 x 9400 and a 2 x 9241.  I have done the hard reboot on one of the 9241 by holding the power button and reset the other with not improvement on populating the missing channels.  Also requested reactivation last night via the website again with no change.  Thanks

Thank you. If you have basic or any service package, you will only see the channels you are subscribed to. You will not see channels that are not available to you. I can't see channels I am not subscribed to on any of my three 9500 receivers. Several channels have been removed since May for contract reasons. The guide used to say "This channel is no longer available". I note those channels and the message are now gone, suggesting Bell changed their guide or there was a receiver firmware upgrade.

Thanks.  That might be the case.  All I know in the past you were able to see all available channels via the guide in all channel mode.  This whole journey started when I was looking to add some channels and went to all channels on the guide and did not see them.  I immediately thought there was something wrong with my equipment since I could not see 82W after a check switch.  I then proceeded to troubleshoot my setup.  Removing the sw44 from the setup, changing the LNB, changing out to a new sw44 switch, Re aiming the dish (at least I was able dial in a few more percentage on the signal strength) all to find out 82W was no longer in use.  Would have been nice to get that information from Bell but I guess it must have been invisible to most people.  Maybe there was also a firmware change to reduce what we are able to see in the guide (again it would have been nice to know from Bell in some form of communication).  Just odd that I can see some of the channels I'm not subscribed to but not all of them.  Thanks again for your help and if you or anyone else find out any differently please don't hesitate to let me know via this thread.

Hi @BellNick.  I tried both your proposed solutions already without any success.  Let me try syncing the channels one more time and I’ll let you know the results.  Thanks

@BellNick Finally had a chance to resync programming and still not seeing all available channels I currently do not subscribe to in the guide under all channels.  Thanks.

I am having a similar problem with stations that I AM subscribed to. Called in to have programming syncronized. The channels reappeared and then later on they are missing again. The ones I have noticed in particular are the West feeds for ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and PBS. There may be others that I haven't noticed seeing that I don't know them all by heart.

Thank you for your question. Which satellite receiver do you have? It is possible you are looking at any one of several guide screens visible when you press the Guide button on your remote. Pressing the Guide button repeatedly on your remote changes your channel selection options.

Screen #1 is the list of All Channels. This shows all the channels available to you, including channels you are not subscribed to. Screen #2 is the list of channels you are subscribed to. Screen #3 is the list of all HD channels. Screen #4 is your personally customized list of channels that you have chosen in Settings.

If there is something else not visible, please comment further. You can also reboot your receiver to see if that changes your channel list.

Hello. The receiver is the 9241. There are missing channels that I am subscribed to no matter which guide display option is used. I called Bell to syncronize the programming as I seem to have the limit to do it through my account online. Before calling I tried reset on the front panel and no change. While I was on the phone with Bell agent he had me unplug the receiver and then plug back in. Then we ran check switch and let it go through that process and after it downloaded the program guide information the channels that I had noticed were missing were then appearing in the guide. Shortly after that though they were gone once again. The channels in particular that I am noticing are missing are: ABC West, CBS West, FOX West, NBC West and PBS West. There may be others that I am not noticing as well. Not sure, I don't know all the usual channels by heart.

Thank you for all your diligent work. You may be seeing a hard driver or other hardware failure happening. Your 9241 receiver is not obsolete but it is certainly outdated. The most current receiver is the 9500. I suggest you consider calling Bell at 1-866-310-2355 and asking about an replacement receiver or an upgrade.

Hello. Did you find a solution to this problem?

The solution may be a new receiver.
