I rent three (3) android TV streamers, can I return them all and keep my TV programming?
it's much less frustrating accessing my programming via the Bell TV app on my smart TV or iPad than constantly have to plug and unplug the receivers or run downstairs to reboot the whole home 4000 router because android box is frozen or downloading recordings for 24 hours or more.

According to Bell's website, you can subscribe to a "Fibe TV App" only package.
I haven't done the research to see the difference between these packages and the regular Fibe TV packages

Hi there @Starick1957 @MoxieSkipper
Thank you for your post.
Yes, you can return your television equipment and just pay for the programming. You would need to switch from our Fibe TV service to our Fibe TV app service. Please be aware that the Fibe TV app does not support PVR capabilities, so you will no longer be able to record or access any current recordings you may have.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Community.

Heh @chgrbt
Yes, you can return two receivers and still continue to use the Cloud services. Keep in mind the functionality of the Fibe App is slightly different than a VIP7802 receiver.
If you wish to make this change, you will need to contact Bell Customer Service Fibe TV: 1 866 310-BELL (2355) or dial *611 from any Bell mobile device.
Take care.

Seems like you are talking about latest fibe tv boxes instead of the device comes with Fibe TV app or formerly ALT TV packs.
Nah you will have to keep at least one cause there are plenty of exclusive functions only available with the box. For example, without it all your recordings won’t be available after 60 days, no 4K and the Restart function will be harder to use.

I am a Bell Fibe/Fibe TV subscriber with 3 HD tuners. I have the same equipment in my house since moving back in 2014. Over the last couple of years I upgraded my TVs and they are all running off Google TV. One has Google TV built-in, the other two use external Google TV devices. One of these has Roku built-in but I always use the Google TV now.
I have disconnected two of my Fibe TV tuners as I now use the Bell Android app on Google TV. I find it's faster, the image quality if better and I get a better experience. I keep my main Fibe TV tuner running so it's handling my recordings but I always watch Bell TV via the Android app.
Is it possible to return the Fibe TV tuners and just keep going off the Bell TV app? I know Bell now offers it's own Android media player device but I don't really need it since I can do everything off the app. I am confused as to why I have to keep the old hardware gathering dust if I don't use it, other than to keep my account and TV plan alive. Is there a better way to do this? I just find it's not very efficient.

Hi @Bankie,
Thanks for reaching out to the Bell Community.
You have the option of either ordering another TV receiver, or you can choose to switch to the Fibe TV app subscription and use your own streaming equipment.
Check out the helpful replies above, and let the Community know if you have any other questions 🙂

I have a Fibe TV subscription, 3 7802 receivers and I pay for Fibe Cloud and on some other devices I use Fibe TV app to watch live and recorded shows.
Does anyone know, can I keep paying for Fibe TV subscription and Fibe Cloud, but get rid of the 3 7802 receivers and still access live and recorded shows and set up recordings from the Fibe TV app?

Thx for the info, previous replies in this topic are over a year old so having current info is valuable. If I keep my current Fibe TV service with one receiver, return the other 2 receivers, it seems like I can use the Fibe TV app on other devices with PVR functionality. What do you think of that? Unless Bell does something to block the app. This would saves me $20/month.

Hey @WelshTerrier, appreciate the response. I'm preferring the wifi connectivity of the bell app on TV or other devices versus the 7802. That's a priority, for whatever reason 7802 has been a pain, and I'm not going to hardwire my house to mitigate the 7802 hardware issues. Tired of reboots and many times laggy performance. And I get to deal with all that and the privilege of paying $10/month per receiver. Just peeved I need to keep one receiver just to to keep PVR cloud that I also pay monthly for. Anyway, 2 of the 3 7802s are packed up for Purolator pickup Monday. 👍
