Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum
It is somewhat difficult to answer your question based on the limited information you have provided. Can you share with us the make, model, size and manufacturer of these drives? Have you reached out to the manufacturer for formatting instructions? Are you using a computer using Windows 10, 11 or a different operating system such as Apple OS, etc.
I can offer up to you the following generic instructions:
- To format a satellite TV hard drive for a PC, you'll need to remove it and connect it to your PC. Depending on the type, you may need to use a SATA to USB adapter or a docking station.
- Then, use the Disk Management tool in Windows to initialize the disk, delete any existing partitions, and create a new simple volume, which will allow you to format it with a standard file system like NTFS or exFAT. Be aware that formatting will erase all data on the drive, including any recordings.
Let us know if you require further assistance.
Take care.
