Recordings only available on your Fibe TV receiver after 60 days

I’ve always watched my recorded programs on my tablet. Now all of a sudden I can only watch certain recorded programming. It says ‘the contact is not available to watch on my device’ and it asks if I want to watch it on my receiver. For example, I have two programs recorded back to back on the same channel and Bell will let me play one and not the other on my tablet.

Hi there @Ultraviolet5,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.

@AlexS is correct that recordings are only available on the app for 60 days; this is to maintain storage capacity. The original recording will see be available on the main PVR.

Hi @SM, thanks for your post. The Community needs a bit more information in order to help.

Which recorded program cannot be viewed on your device? Have you checked for any recent app updates? Which tablet are you using, and have you made sure the device is up to date? Once you've confirmed that everything's up to date, if you're still having trouble can you uninstall the Fibe TV app, and reinstall it to see if that makes a difference?

Please keep the Community posted.

Hi all,

I have noticed that with my Bell Fibe tv app I now have a whole bunch of my recordings under “expiring soon” even though every single one has settings for erasing when I decide to erase.
Every single week I get more and more episodes added to this list. For example, recordings from October 1st just got added to this list.
The funny thing is my old recordings from back in June and July are not in this list. Also, on my actual 4K Fibe box, NOTHING comes up as expiring soon… so I am worried my recordings will be erased!!! Anyone know if this is a known glitch?!

No, it simply means the recordings won’t be available on the app but on the dvr only after 60 days. They still wanna rent out additional wireless receivers lol.

Hi there,

Yes, this is usually the case. However, all the episodes that are adding to my “expiring soon” section are episodes that are less than 1 month old (dated October 1st, October 2nd, etc). It seems each day, they are adding to the list… I would show a screenshot if it were possible.  Perhaps this is a new feature and is triggered to the list when an episode is 30 days out?
I just want to make sure they aren’t deleted - so thank you for clarifying.
Thank you for your help!

Well, if the remaining period plus the existed period is 60 days, then everything is fine. There’s no need to have a countdown on the 60th day. It’s rather a reminder than a feature since the 60-day limit has been there for a long time.

I have the exact same issue and it makes no sense. When you download a show it says it will remain downloaded until you delete it. You have 60 days to download a recorded show. After that it remains on the PVR but you can no longer download it.

I have a slew of recent recordings on a line that says Expriing Soon but with no expiry date. So far, nothing has been deleted.

The whole thing makes no sense. I called Bell twice a few weeks ago and they did not know what I was talking about. I may try again.  I am happy to see your post as I now know I am not alone with this issue.

You can suggest Bell charge more for the access to recordings anywhere after 60 days. Btw, the pic quality on TV is always better than other movable platforms.

That is not the issue. The problem is that there is a long list of shows I have downloaded that they say are expiring. But once you download a show it is only supposed to expire once you choose to delete it.

That’s a copyright/business issue. If it’s available indefinitely after downloading, no one would pay for other services like blue ray disks or streaming services as long as they don’t mind the video quality.

Same here. Cannot watch on my phone anymore. Keeps saying to watch on receiver. Meanwhile none of my receivers have any recordings. The whole thing is terrible

Certain episodes are now no longer available to watch on my phone. Example older episodes I’ve recorded from a couple months back now say watch on receiver. None of my 3 receivers even have those recordings and have fully stopped functioning. This is very bad. A recorder that can’t record.
