Separate recordings with multiple Bell Fibe receivers

Hello,

I'm considering subscribing to Fibe TV soon, and I'm hesitant about how recordings are handled on Fibe receivers. Let me explain:

I live in a multi-generational home with my parents, and we each have a satellite receiver in our respective living rooms. This means that our recordings are stored on our receivers independently of each other, since they are saved locally on the receiver's hard drive. I don't have access to my parents' recordings, and they don't have access to mine.

From what I understand about Fibe technology, the receivers don't record programs locally; everything is recorded in the cloud. Recordings are therefore common to all receivers.

In short, is there an option on these receivers (or a new option to add to the Bell contract) that could allow to filter or divide recordings in folders based on the receiver that scheduled the recording? We want to maintain the principle of independent recordings, since my parents don't want to see my recordings, and I don't want to see theirs.

Thank you.

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

There is no option available on Bell Fibe TV that will allow you to filter or divide your recordings & store them in to folders.

If you wish to have separate recording storage for each of you, then you require separate Fibe TV accounts as well.

With the Fibe TV Cloud PVR:

  1. You can filter the view based on date, title, scheduled and series.
  2. You can record up to ten programs simultaneously and watch them on any of your screens, at any time.
  3. You can keep up to 320 hours of recordings, which will be saved for 60 days.

Good Day.

Yes, that is correct. You would need to have a separate subscription.

As I previously mentioned, if you wish to have separate recording storage for each of you, then you require separate Fibe TV accounts. This requires the installation of another Bell modem, Fibe TV box / receivers, etc.

User profiles, folder, group recordings, etc. is not possible.

Take care.

Does that mean that we'll need to pay a second Bell Fibe subscription?

It would really be useful to be able to have separate user profiles that we could log in on the receiver, so that we have our own recordings individually? Is there a similar solution, or the possibility to define a receiver as "owner" of the recording, which would allow to visually group the recordings according to the user?
