Sharing recordings between 9500's

I'm looking at moving to a whole home setup with three tvs (perhaps expanding later).  The Bell configurator shows I need 2 9500s and 1 7500.  While this looks good, I have been told that the while the 9500s  see each other to share resources, the don't share recorded programs between each other.  My question is can you play a recorded program on one TV attached to 9500 that is stored on the othe 9500?  Thanks in advance.

Hey @Sharbotcom & @Wakka197. Great conversation guys! 🙂

We just wanted to jump in and offer some clarification.

For the Whole Home PVR Satellite set-up if you have a 9500 (up to two) and/or a 7500 (up to four) all receivers will share and have access to all recordings, as long as they are connected to the same Hybrid Duo Hub installed by a technician.

Have a nice day.

I saw this question and like if that possible it be cool.

Wakka197 can I assume from your response that you have 2 9500s and they don't share recordings?

Yeh they are separate .

Thanks @Wakka197  It appears "Whole home" is not really whole home since Bell's three tv setup require 2 9500s  and 1 7500.  Basically only the TV attached to the 7500 gets access to all recordings. That kind of kills a livingroom, den and bedroom scenario I was planning on since I can't fully share between the livingrpom and den.

Ok, I'm really confused now.  I just got off the phone with Bell support and was told the 9500s don't share AND the 7500 only attaches to one of the 9500s not both.  So, what is called a "whole home" solution for three tvs works out to be 2 tvs can share programming (9500 and a 7500) and one independent 9500.  I would be better off with one 9500 and 2 7500s bso I can see all recordings on any of the 3 tvs BUT Bell won't let me order it that way.  I have to order 2 9500s and a 7500.  Am I see this all wrong and getting bad info from the Bell agent?  Please somone correct me if I'm wrong.

Thank you @BellPatricia.  That makes more sense.  I was once again just chatting with a Bell CSR and they didn't share that info with me.  They told me the only way is use a device running the Bell Vibe TV app.  I guess I now feel confident to do an order for the 2 9500s and the 7500.

I hope you got it .

So can you share recordings between 2 9500 receivers without a 7500? How does 1 activate it? I have 2 9500's, connected through a hybrid duo hub. I can't share recordings between the 2. Also when i go to settings, installation and whole home neither receiver lists the other receiver.

Hi there @Kotkoj,

Thank you for reaching out to the Bell Community 🙂

Are you getting an error message when you try to access your recordings on the second receiver, or are they simply not visible?

We recommend that you try rebooting both TV receivers by unplugging them for around one minute. Then schedule a new recordings, and test to see if the issue persists.

Let us know how everything is going,

They are simply not visible. It's like the 2 receivers aren't aware there is another receiver.

Hey there @Kotkoj,

Is this a new occurrence or were you able to watch your recordings on all receivers in the past? Are you able to record from both receivers separately?

Have you also tried rebooting the equipment to see if that helps?

Please try unplugging the power from the outlets, then unplug the satellite cables from the receivers. Wait 30 seconds and plug the receivers back in the electrical outlet, and reconnect the satellite cables. Once the programming has returned, select any live event to record, and when the recording is complete check to see if it appears on both receivers.

Keep us posted.

I recorded some shows on 1 PVR and want to watch them on another PVR. How do I do that? I have 2 9500 whole home PVRs.

That’s an interesting question. In theory, you could switch out the PVR devices and put one in the other’s location. To the best of my knowledge, you can’t watch something recorded on machine A on machine B.
