Slim Remote Voice Control issue when turning off TVs

Elle

We have 2 tvs in the house on Fibe, each with its own slim remote and each named differently. One is "little tv" and the second is "other tv". Until about 3 wks ago there was no issues with saying "turn off little tv" or "turn off other tv". The response would be "Turning off little tv" or "turning off other tv". Now the response has changed to "turning off 2 televisions". It started first on the one tv and is now doing it on both. Really odd - any idea what is going on???

Good Day.

I trust the remote controls that you are using are the Voice remote associated with the VIP7802 Fibe TV box.

You can try resetting the remotes & setting up this information with the Google Assistant.

Connecting your Google account and Fibe TV : Using Google Assistant voice controls

Please have a look at the following:

Fibe TV Voice Remote: Complete List of How-tos and Tutorials from Bell

Power and volume commands

To control your power and volume, try saying:

  • Sleep
  • Volume down
  • Volume up 10%
  • Mute
  • Volume to 50%

Note: Controlling your TV’s power and volume is not yet supported.

Using voice commands with Fibe TV : Enabling bilingual voice commands

Take care.

Hey there @Elle

Thanks for your post 🙂

As @WelshTerrier suggested 'controlling your TV’s power and volume is not yet supported'.

It sounds as though you have set up some special configurations directly in the Google Home app. We recommend checking your Google Home app and review/configure your voice settings.
