Sound delay between multiple receivers

I have 3 receivers that are connected via Ethernet and I have the Gigahub unit where speed would not be an issue.  There is no audio/video delay in any of the respective receivers ie each of the receivers works well when watching on the respective TVs.

Where I have a problem is the sound coming out of each receiver is not synced up so there is a lag between each of the TVs.  One might say that each of the TVs might have their own issues but I did not have this problem with the much-slower Videotron cable network (switched to Bell 3 years ago).

Is there any way to get these receivers synced up so the sound coming from adjacent rooms does not have a sound lag?  It's quite annoying!

Good afternoon @Papa

Thank you for reaching out to the Bell Community 🙂

Typically, the audio between your receivers should be in sync. However, it's possible for there to be a few seconds delay if there is any buffering on one or all of the receivers.

To help sync the audio please try the following:

  • Tune one receiver to the channel you want to watch. Wait 20 seconds, then tune the other receivers to the same channel. After that please go back to the first receiver and tune away, wait 20 seconds and tune back in.

Please test that out, and let the Community know if you have any other questions,

Good Day.

You have very great question & thank you for asking it. What are the makes & models of your TV’s? Can you provide me with the receiver models that you have connected? Is your issue related to streaming vs. live TV? Which Fibe TV subscription do you have?

Have you checked & adjusted your audio settings in each receiver?  Are you experiencing the same problem if you change this setting to stereo?
Have you checked your tvs’ for sync settings in audio & adjusted them accordingly?

There are any number of factors that can affect audio / video. We need a lot more information in order to assist?

Let us know.

Thank you for the question. I wonder if the issue is because each TV is connecting through the receiver to the Giga Hub and to the program source through the internet independently and at varying speed and lag. That can be a small difference but still audible, as you suggest. Whether that synch or each device is possible or not is for someone with a higher level of technical insight than I have to respond to.

I have 2 types of receivers and 3 types of TVs.  I do not believe there is any need to post these models here.  As I previously wrote, everything was synced up very well with Videotron cable.  When I walked from one room to the other, there was not noticeable delay, irrespective of the TV/receiver sets.  I have not modified any of those settings.

My setup with the Bell receivers is one where I go through the GigaHub, through an Ethernet switchbox to each receiver, ie, directly pass through to each receiver at the highest possible speed.  And with this setup, there is a noticeable difference in TV broadcast sound (live TV), sometimes on the order of 2-5 seconds.  There is no sound lag between video and audio.

So, how can the sound be synched up between receivers like it was for cable TV?  This is the question I'm basically asking.  I don't have a receiver/TV sound issue, each TV has HDMI input from the respective receiver.
