US and Timeshifting channels on the Fibe TV App

I have a number of channels on my Bell TV package that cannot be accessed on the Fibe TV App ie. CBS, NBC and ABC including timeshifting. This is very annoying since I am paying for services that are not available across all my devices. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Good Day.

Thank you for your reply. I wish I could offer up to you a quick fix for this, but I cannot.

As I mentioned to you in my previous reply below, in order to watch some stations on the Fibe TV app while at home or away, you must have an active Bell Internet service (the internet would need to be DSL or Fibe. Wireless Home Internet is not compatible.)

Fibe TV App

  • At home, connected to Bell Wi-Fi Live TV (requires unlimited Internet) recordings and video on demand.
  • Away from home, on another Internet connection or on Bell Wireless Home Internet (WHI) Live TV (select content), video on demand and recordings.

Take care.

It looks like the Fibe app might even be crippled on a Bell Internet connection. Snipped from additional details item 2 here: Fibe TV - Home | Bell Canada:

"Select content may be unavailable on the app, including in-home..."

Bell is making a lot of noise about "No hardware required" and then they turn around and say (in fine print) that some content may not be available if you are using the app instead of a hardware receiver.

Question for everyone who uses the app: Are there TV channels that appear in the guide but are not available to stream? I have several subscribed channels that work on my Bell satellite receiver but those same channels throw an error message when I try to view them in the app on my iPhone or on my Apple TV box. Does the same thing happen to Fibe subscribers with Internet service from Bell? If yes, that would not be a good thing.

Thank you for your question. Earlier posts in this tread suggest that licensing issues are the reason for any programming differences between Fibe TV and Bell Satellite TV.
