Has anyone noticed video quality on satellite 91 with sports etc having any of these issues since everything moving to just the one satellite 91. I have experienced a couple of these just wondering if others do as well.
- Pixelation and Jitter on HD Channels: Many users report that HD channels, particularly during live sports or action-heavy scenes, suffer from noticeable pixelation, stuttering, and a "jittery" or choppy picture. This is a direct sign of aggressive video compression.
- Worse Picture Quality on HD than SD: The very problem you're experiencing is a frequent complaint. Subscribers note that some SD channels, despite their lower resolution, appear "cleaner" and more stable than their HD counterparts, which are plagued by artifacts.
- Satellite Signal Strength Discrepancies: Users often report that their signal strength on satellite 91 is strong, while satellite 82 is weak or nonexistent. This is a critical issue because Bell TV's HD service requires both satellites for a complete channel lineup. The relocation of channels to 91 seems to have exacerbated this problem for many.

When every channel got moved to 91 the data rate increased. Satellite transponders can only transmit so much data (like 40 mb/sec) websites like lyngsat.com gives good info on the subject. With limited data Satellite providers lower the bit rate of each channel to fit 10-15 channels on a transponder while keeping data under the 40 mb/sec limit. Sometimes they have to drop channels too. (They use licensing agreements as an excuse to drop channels)
Your getting a 1080 picture but its interlaced not progressive and its at a low bitrate.
Sub-par service at an expensive charge. (Ive been with Bell since day one when i got 4× the channels at the cost of $80. They were at a higher bit rate too) good luck

It seems all 3 of our setboxes died mysteriously one day at the same time.. Bell says they are "outdated" and to just order new ones. They came back online after a few days and were fine for a few weeks, then progressively loosing channels and getting stuck when trying to change channels, even though the Guide was showing everything.
Bottom line, we are dead in the water again. Have done lots of troubleshooting, but nothing is solving the matter. After researching the Satellite 91 consolidation and issues that seems to present, esp in a rural environment, I have to wonder if it is worth "upgrading" our set box receivers and re-initiating another "rental contract" when it appears BELL's goal is to eliminate this technology alltogether. in the not-to distant future.
Are we really being forced into an internet loaded streaming model that nickle and dimes us for each "subscription" while overloading out bandwidth capability that they either can't support, or choke us down when traffic ramps up in the evenings and on weekends!? I've been with BELL far too long and have dealt with their inept support too often, but about to cut all ties as everytime they have "upgraded" me to solve an issue, the problem just got worse and now is totally inoperable, both TV and Internet.

9241 and 6131
Yes, quite old.. so I guess they don't last forever, but just so strange that the would all fail at the same time, especially one that is hardly ever even used. I suspect there may be an end date.. or BELL could have just "cut off" the feed to outdated equipment.
