I have a Sony TV running Google connected to a Fibe TV device. Intermittently, when using Voice Command on the Bell remote (Google Assistant) to fast forward through a Recorded Show on Fibe TV, the command tries to execute on the TV instead of on Fibe, even if I give the specific command to Fast Forward on Fibe. I have to manually FF using the buttons on the remote. The only way I’ve found to resolve is to reboot. Totally frustrated. Any assistance would be welcome.

Hey there @JudithRL
Thanks very much for your post 🙂
There are a few things you can try out that may fix this for you.
- Turn OFF Google Assistant on the Sony TV (but keep it on the Bell remote).
- Disable HDMI‑CEC on your TV.
- Re‑pair the Bell remote to the Fibe TV device.
Let us know how everything is going.

Thank you @BellPatricia. Option 1 worked for a short time and then the problem returned. I then renamed the device in the Google Home app, and the 2 solutions together seem to be working. I will keep the HDMI CEC fix in my repertoire in case the issue returns. I’ve seen a lot of posts here and on Reddit that this is a known issue with the Google Assistant Voice Command. Anyway… it’s working for now.
Thank you again for your help and happy holidays!

Good Day & Welcome.
Sony TVs use the Google Assistant as their voice assistant, allowing hands-free or remote-activated control for searching content across apps, getting info (weather, scores), and managing smart home devices, activated by saying "Hey Google" or pressing the mic button on the remote, requiring a Google account and internet.
Have you linked your Fibe TV box to your Google Assistant? How are you accessing your Voice Commands & through which remote are you accessing these commands and actions with your Sony TV & your Fibe TV box?
Please provide us with further specifics in order to better assist you.
Have you contacted Google & Sony Tech support?
Connecting your Google account and Fibe TV : Why link Google with your Fibe TV Box?
Let us know.
Take care.

The Fibe TV box is set up with the Google Assistant and everything works, except for this one function. We access by pressing the Google button on the Bell slim remote. The issue may be related to a recent update on the TV but all the setting seem to be unchanged. Sony and Google are not helpful.
