How does the Time Shift package work?

Why are time shifted channels showing the same programming eg. comedy east and west, showing the same thing,, and then repeating the same thing  a hour or two later the THE SAME SHOWS,,, at the same time again?… also, why do the channels. eg. sci fi, history, or movie, channels , not reflect the programming that should be on them, the genre is not what I subscribed for, we pay for movies, not documentaries, or sports etc. these have their own channels again???

Hey @Nothappy. Thanks for your post, and welcome to the Community 🙂

Time shifting gives you the convenience of watching a show at different times of the day. Because of the different time zones across Canada, programs can often start at up to five different times every day. For example, you could watch a show at 8 pm in Toronto that is scheduled to play at 5 pm on a Vancouver station, or in some instances the same program may be aired on multiple stations.

Well that’s how time-shifting should work. Ppl have the same show at the same respective local time, unless it’s live events like Oscar. Cannot let suppers interfere w/ prime time shows, right?

“repeating the same thing a hour or two later”? I assume u mean even the episode # is the same. What I notice is that this only happens if the other non-local channel u r paying attention to is just 1 or 2 hr slower than ur time zone. But what I notice for Ctv Comedy, whatever channel has a 2nd station w/ a “W” on the logo, and whatever channel has both east & west local channels is that the difference is three hours. Not sure if u simply mentioned Comed channel randomly.

As for the genes. it’s just a technical issue.  Fwik, among all major telecoms, only Bell & Vidéotron don’t have theme packs, so there’s a greater chance to make mistakes. But both companies allow ppl to swap in the middle of the month unlike other companies. U mention ab movie channels and & I checked, indeed most of them r doubtful  channels. But for those US channels included in the time-shift, maybe bc telecoms figure Canadian audience mostly subscribe for their movies airing on weekends, not for other shows or news coverage. However, lots of channels’ names simply don’t match up to the content or a theme 100%. Like MUCH, CMT and MTV, their names r just historic. History channel is similar but receives lots of criticism. And ofc as well as the some of the “movie” channels  we talked ab. Even news channels rn’t 100% news. Heard of CP24’s hot property? CNN US feed & BBC World News sometimes airs documentaries too. One mostly airs documentaries ab history and the other ab art, museum & tourism. CNN international even has golf programmings. Wait, Bell actually don’t put BBC WN in the news category, so do CGTN & Al Jazeera. Is it appropriate? And y CHCH is included in this category too?
So it’s better to locate specific shows first instead of subscribing a lot.

My east and west show same episodes at the same time, they are not shifted, so east where I’m am at 8:00am should be be showing in west feed 3 hrs later the same episodes, not both at 8:00am , same episode?? Bell says they don’t control programing?
