I recently replaced my homehub 4000 with the new Giga Hub, and since it's been installed my Apple HomeKit devices (mainly my smart plug and Logitech CircleView camera) keep going offline. I never used to have this problem with the HomeHub 4000. I keep having to remove each offline device and having to reinstall. I spoke with a bell technical support rep and they suggested that I put all of my homekit devices on a 2ghz network. I took that advice but am still finding myself having to remove, reinstall or unplug/plug back in my apple homekit devices. What would I need to provide on my end to help the Bell engineers identify the problem?

I deleted my HomeKit household a few days ago, then created a new household and added all my HomeKit devices again - since then, HomeKit has been very stable - no issues.

I started having lots of issues with HomeKit since the latest Giga Hub firmware 1.16 update. Many of my devices are showing on a daily basis 'no response'. Restarting Giga Hub temporarily resolves the issue, but then it recurs within 24 hours.

Hey, you said you’ve figured out a way to make things work. Could you please share the details of what you did? I’m having a similar problem with an Apple TV at the moment.
Thanks.

hi there.. for the record, I dont use apple homekit. I use Smartlife app to control all my Wi-Fi switches and plugs (mostly lights) in my house. I think while the issue is the same, the fix may likely be different. That said, all my Wi-Fi switches are on 2.5ghz and i had to do a reset on the switches itself (not the router) to get everything to work the way i wanted.

How is the stability of your HomeKit (AppleHome) ecosystem now?
I just switched to Bell Fibe from another provide and my 2.4ghz switches would randomly "fly away". The use of Thread & Matter enabled accessories has overcome this issue, however the HomePod Mini can sometimes still do this.
I added an Engenius Wireless Acces point and on the other provider's hardwares and nothing was available to my HomeKit except the Tread/Mattter devices.
I have switched to Bell Fibe 3GB and now the old 2.4ghz switches are misbehaving.
Will delete the entire EcoSystem and start again. Did you have to separate the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands on the router and put the entire Home onto the 2.4Ghz network?
@BellNick is this an option for using AppleHome/HomeKit ?

Apple Home Kit as well?
All your devices or only the 2.4G devices from 3rd party?
Do the apple devices stay connected like HomePod Mini and AppleTV?

Here is my experience with the GigaHub. During the installation, the technician transferred my SSID and Hub 2000 settings to the new GigaHub so I would not have to reconfigure my devices.
About a month ago I came back from a walk to discover that I had no more internet connection. Checked the GigaHub and it was running OK. Using my iPhone, I discover that a reset had been done on the GigaHub reverting it to the default configuration and that it was using the default SSID (Wi-Fi Network Name). The only think I can think happened here is that a technician did a remote reset on the GigaHub using my mailing address instead of the client that they were speaking to. Very bad.
So I proceeded to reconfigure all my device to the default Wi-Fi Network Name and since that time all my HomeKit devices have been misbehaving. The main issue is the messages on the devices that "Home Hub is not responding". I managed to get everything back to normal but as soon as there is a power outage (which my area has been getting a lot of) the issues return.
One post suggests deleting the Home in the Apple Home app and starting from scratch while another is saying to split the 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz channel. But if there is a better method to resolve this for everyone then I would like to know before resorting to the above.
Also forgot to mention that I had set the 2.4 Ghz band to channel 1 and discovered that it is now back on channel 6. I have noted a few post about the GigaHub in the recommendations that I am going to look into.

I’m having similar issues to everyone here. My setup is a GigaHub with one extra Wi-Fi Pod that’s hardwired to the GigaHub. Best I can determine is that my Apple HomePods see that extra Wi-Fi Pod as a separate network. My HomePods all function, but I’m not able to use handoff or control via my iPhone sometimes depending on whether I’m connected to the GigaHub or the Wi-Fi Pod. I’ll get an error that my iPhone is not on the same network as the HomePods, but it is. Has anyone swapped their Wi-Fi Pod with the new 6E pod? Does that make any difference?

Waited years and Bell finally got Fibe to my neighbourhood.
got it installed. Great speed, great price.
except, all my devices on HomeKit keep getting dropped. Resetting doesn’t matter.
Spent far too long on the phone with tech support then two loyalty reps in countries far far away that didn’t even know what HomeKit is.
They know they have a problem, but don’t have a fix. They refuse to downgrade the modem to a HomeHub 4000 (because there’s no option on their computer screen).
So after only a week, services cancelled.
Bell doesn’t care.

So I just recently ordered bell fiber and they gave me the new giga hub and everything seemed to work ok initially, however later on in the day, I reset the hub and reconnected everything using the same SSID I’ve always had (so that all devices reconnect without reconfiguring) and all of a sudden my Apple HomeKit enabled devices are acting out. My Apple TV is connected to all smart devices and they all work, but my HomePod just says no response, my roku tv also says no response and I can’t seem to airplay or even control anything from my phone on either Apple TV or HomePod. This has never happened prior to upgrading to bell.
anyone know of a fix?

I don’t want to speak too soon but I may have fixed it on my end. I disabled the option for whole home wifi and set it to display individual wifi networks so I can see the 2.4 GHz network separate from the 5 GHz one. Then I set all of my Apple devices to specifically be on the 5GHz network and all devices that were on that 5GHz network started to work normally. However I have an ecobee smart thermostat that only supports 2.4 GHz and it still said “no response” in the home app, so I started thinking there’s something going on with the 2.4 network. So I went into the modem settings and decided to play around with the advanced wifi settings a bit, and this is what I think actually fixed the issue, I changed the security type from “WPA2” to “WPA2/WPA3 Transitional (recommended)” and suddenly everything that was saying “no response” started working properly no matter if it was on 2.4 or 5 GHz.
Can’t say it’ll work for everyone but worth a try.

Wanted to chime in here because I spent some time banging my head against the wall on this.
Splitting the networks and then adding each device to the 5GHz network seems to have worked (for now). WPA2/3 Transition security settings, and I have an Apple TV 4K, an old Airport Express, and a new Apple Homepod Mini that are now all working well.
