Is there a way to turn my wi-fi off on the modem besides just unplugging everything. Thank you.

I am not going to comment on the nature of Wi-Fi signals, but the inability to turn off certain Wi-Fi channels used for Fibe TV has been a part of Bell equipment since they began fibre began deployment. If you are a shareholder, perhaps you should take the matter up with Bell corporate.

In my opinion there are forum guidelines all of us are expected to follow. https://forum.bell.ca/t5/Welcome-to-the-Bell-Community/Community-Guidelines/m-p/720#M6
The Be on-Topic one is particularly relevant, I think.
Despite your claims to the contrary, I don't work for Bell, neither does @dks , and there are others who post frequently who also don't work for Bell.
The forum posts are mostly Q&A sessions, so if you have a question we'd happy to help answer it. Problem-solving is the foundation of the forums.

Wban requires wearable devices, and the concept has been around since 1995. So unless you are wearing 1 or more wearable devices, there's nothing to worry about.
And even if you are wearing 1 or more, they have safety features to prevent unauthorized access.
To be honest, there are way more wireless network channels in an airport, community centers, shopping malls etc... That does not mean they are "probing" you...

Thank you for your question. There is no way to entirely turn wi-fi off on any Bell modem. That is a modem default setting which can't be changed, to the best of my knowledge. There are several "hidden" wireless channels, which can be seen on a wireless detection program, that can not be shut off at the modem as they are required for Bell Fibe TV, even if you are not a subscriber to that service. The most you can do is turn of Whole Home wi-fi in the modem settings. However, if you have Bell pods they require Whole Home wi-fi to be on to work.
I hope that answers your question.

Well, there is still a hidden FibeTV wifi alive that you can not turn off. The FibeTV wifi is dedicated for Bell FibeTV receiver connection because you can not use wifi of your own router to connect FibeTV. . For me, the Gigahub is in the basement and my TV box is upstairs. So the signal is too weak and it disconnects frequently. I have ditched the box and only use the BellTV app instead. But I don't want any Bell Wifi signal in my house to reduce interferences. Is there a way to disable this FibeTV hidden Wifi?

Thank you for your question. No. There is no way to disable the hidden Wi-Fi channels which serve Fibe TV. If your wireless signal between the Giga Hub modem and your TV box is weak, a potential solution is the Bell pods or a wireless mesh system from your own router.

Bell lied to us about GigaHub, we were supposed to be able to turn-off Wifi and go ethernet, they assured me of that. Then FORCED ME to pay for Fibe TV I've never used. I'm a BCE shareholder and I'm tired of management and board that is reckless and has destroyed more shareholder value than any other Canadian corporation when you throw in the Nortel IP safekeeping catastrophe.

With all respect, one person gave you incorrect information. Bell has always been up front with the “hidden” wireless broadcast for Fibe TV. As this is a user to user forum, all we can do is share our knowledge.

I use my own wifi mesh for Wifi. I don't want to use anything from Bell for Wifi. However BellTV will only connect to Bell Gigahub which is too far down in the basement. You can not connect Bell TV to your own Wifi router. This is laughable. I will cancel Bell TV and just pay for Netflix.

Bell did tell me that the hidden wifi exists - they really can not really deny it because I can see it on the web portal device list. I still don't understand why Bell TV must be connected to Gigahub and can not connect to my own router which i connected to the Gigahub. I also do not understand why the hidden wifi can not be disabled if I do not use Bell TV.

Bell TV does not have to be Wi-Fi connected. It's the easiest to setup as it does not require any wiring, but you can also connect it to the HH using one of the ethernet ports.
As to why it does not work with your own router, is because it uses VLAN34 for TV services. You will have to configure your router properly in order to use the TV services. Much easier solution it to connect the tv box directly to one of the LAN ports of the home hub.

I know I can connect with an ethernet cable, but it is 50 meters away upstairs. The fact they use VLAN for TV services is puzzling. Reality is that it prevents business.
