i see that Ebay has new Bell Giga modems for sale.
I have heard that Bell refuses to activate these? True?
Bell wants $199. Does this belong to you ort do you surrender it when you cancel?

They are owned by Bell and you are supposed to return them when you cancel your service.
Bell will not activate them, so I would suggest not to waste money on buying one.

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.
Do yourself a favour and do not waste your time & money. The Bell Giga Hub is a gateway modem that can only be activated by Bell on Fibe Internet. It is the property of Bell & must be returned when you disconnect your Bell service.
All Internet plans include a Bell Home Hub modem for you to connect Wi-Fi to your devices wirelessly. Plus, in areas where Bell offers pure fibre Internet, customers will normally get the Giga Hub with Wi-Fi 6E.
Take care.

Then you'll waste $199. Only Bell can legally provide you with a modem, and will NOT activate one you buy off of Ebay.

Typically the modem is on your bill, which they then wave so it technically speaking becomes free.
That is why you cannot rent them, as they come with your account.
